Is there still any interest in his teammate (Charleston Rambo)?

Not impressed with our class right now, we need better TX talent

If Mond was still a TX kid, he'd be #12 in the state. Beyond that, zero top 10, no other top 20. Hezekiah is our best shot at a top 20 kid, would be surprising if we landed any top 10.
Most of our commits have good offer lists, but it's always weird trying to figure out what an offer actually means these days.

Any chance some of our 3* move up as scouting continues by the sites?

But yes, good chance some of these kids get moved up

Buckley is falling in the rankings, not rising. He was a composite 4* but is fading. He needs to have a big senior season to become a 4*, trending down right now

Call me an old curmudgeon, but why does anybody care about this? The kid is good else so many schools wouldn't have offered him, right? Do readers here really live and die by recruiting rankings? I don't get it.

He had a good offer list
If he would have committed to tsip, TCU, Auburn, Ole Miss or ASU everyone would be going "oh no" we lost another great receiver!!!!!

Recruiting matters. Teams in the top of the rankings win more. It is a fact. However the difference between being a high 3 or low 4 in a single recruit does not. Any kid we offer this summer or before is a very good player.

6th ranked class as of right now

Our 2013 class was Top 10 ranked on paper, but many of the 4th year players who made up that class either didn't pan out or left the team. In retrospect, it was ranked way too high.
All these guys we have committed have some ability. But nobody really knows what kind of inner drive they have, how coachable they are, their work ethic and how they will react to the college game. These rankings reflect measureables because, well, that's all they can measure.
Better to take Buckley now than try to add him later on if he blows up his senior year. Mond, himself, seems to be working on 2 other WR prospects. Land those two, declare victory in WR recruiting, and move on to other positions such as defensive front 7, is what I would do.

Sure it does! I just don't get the angst worrying about whether a kid is a 3 or a 4, for the reason you mentioned. I'll shut up now.

The stats guy, Bartoo, that goes on Texags discusses being a Top 15 recruiting team. A&M is a top 15 recruiter and we are on track for a top 15 class.
This class looks to be shaping up like Sumlin's 2013 class with 32 recruits or the 2014 UT class which got Butch Jones all of the current hype (also 32 recruits)...both were top 10 classes.

I didn't take his comment as angst, but more a reply to Leo's question and Sarge's reply as to whether some of our 3 stars would become 4 stars. I think he was just commenting that Buckley was trending down, not up (i.e. less like to get a 4th star).
That said, there is often angst over stars, because we want to see how our class measures up in terms of potential. However, there is no doubt rankings can be wrong, misleading or politically manipulated and as Pike noted, a lot of other factors help determine whether rankings translate to performance (attitude, drive, coachability, conditioning, staying out of trouble, injury, adapting to new positions, system, coaching).
No doubt 2 and 3 stars can turn into great players and 4 and 5 stars can bust (just as late round NFL draft picks can turn into studs and first rounders bust), but the odds are better when taking a 5 star beast like Garrett. It's not coincidence that Alabama, Ohio St et al. are often atop the recruiting rankings and competing for titles.
Rankings can give us an idea of potential, but like NFL draft grades, whether potential turns into performance won't be known for a couple years. It's inexact, but it's about all we have, thus the angst.
