I don't get that vibe at all, but maybe I'm missing something. I do know he got into it with a radio guy in Houston, but otherwise he seems to have his shite together. Everything I've read about him and what he's produced on/off the field makes me thik he's legit.

Did you ever hear the interview on the air with John Lopez in houston? Do not want

I am not a fan of his grill personally. Or how he pretty much encouraged Kyle to publicly attack us.
With that said, all that shite shows he is a man driven to win by any means necessary. I don't think he is a good fit for A&M, but I would feel better if his next job is somewhere outside the state of Texas.

That's where I get my impression of him from, it was that bad

I'll see if I can find the old thread.

Like LSU? Yeah I'd rather he have to struggle to fix the mess at Texas for a while.

It's almost like he is preemptively interviewing for the Texas job.
He IS.
We're the recruiting foe of his current and his future team. To some extent, his success in life depends on us failing. I'd talk **** about us if I were him too.

I have a hard time reconciling someone supporting Sumlin but being 100% opposed to Herman. Sumlin has many more negative marks in my opinion.

I find it very easy to reconcile:
He is our coach, while Herman isn't and doesn't seem to want to be.

That's natural, no doubt.
But if that's the case, we should just say we don't want him because he doesn't want us. A radio spat seems very irrelevant compared to multiple locker room meltdowns or recruiting gaffes. And that's before you get into the character rumors surrounding Sumlin.

They totally destroyed Herman in that interview. I think he's going to win a natty at UTw, but he got annihilated in that. And I'm not a fan of either Lopez or Nick Wright and rooting for them or something either. I'm coming at it as an impartial listener who thinks Herman is a bad-arse coach.
Herman spent the entire time dissembling, obfuscating, and trying LAME attempts at semantics like reading out the dictionary definition of "meet" and asking Wright to define the term "smell test".
It was a bad look for him.

But maybe Sarge has good reason to not like Herman's behavior for its own merits. He probably doesn't like some of the things Sumlin has done as well (not to speak for you Sarge).
It is mentally possible to like the A&M football team and not like how Sumlin conducts his business. It is all about how you frame the situation.
Like for me, I choose to believe that Chavis is the defacto head coach and Sumlin is just the headhunter who hires/recruits the coaches Chavis wants. And I don't see a lot of evidence that contradicts that perspective.

Lets see how he handles himself on a bigger stage. UH and A&M are not comparable when it comes to media exposure.
I could see him going to Texas and pissing everyone off.

Hahaha I am going to decide to choose this too. It makes me feel a lot better.

Yeah I don't want to come off as defending Herman for his behavior. Coaches need to be smart enough to avoid dumb stuff like that.

All the talk about him will be over after he loses the first game against oklahoma this season. I would rather hire a proven coach than hiring Sumlin V2.0 with record against weak arse schools in a shitty conference.

Herman spent the whole time trying to lie to convince himself he wasn't lying as I recall
