I am pretty sure that was the series where Luke Anders got drilled 3x in a game. Degs & RC weren't so much pissed at the ump, but they were going to murder Galloway for throwing at Anders (And Darby the game before).

Probably still a few weeks too early to discuss but was checking Boyd's needs report for top 8 RPI, mostly because I saw BA's projection of A&M, Tech, and TCU being national seeds which seems crazy to me
Most everyone is now projecting 3 SEC and 3 ACC national seeds. I think that's pretty likely as this is by far the most division between the two and the other conferences in RPI that I can ever remember.
But there aren't really many other teams in the mix to be seeded.
UCSB RPI: 7
Boyd's suggests they need to win out to stay in top 8 but the Needs report appears busted. They have 23 games remaining, 5 Top 50 RPI, and 10 150+ (threshold I'm guessing is a negative on overall RPI even with a win*). Currently has 3 top 50 RPI wins. Key Series vs CS Fullerton (May 13-15)
Texas Tech RPI: 10
Boyd's suggests they need to win 19 of 23. Problem is it appears they only have 15 games left
Three top 50 games to go and five 150+. Only one game vs top 100 besides the TCU series. Currently has 9 top 50 wins. Key Series vs TCU (Apr 29-May 1)
Louisiana-Lafayette RPI: 13
Boyd's saying 25 of 28 (again though, they only have 21 left). Five top 50 and six 150+. Currently have 4 top 50 wins. Huge factor here is they are not currently leading the Sun Belt (South Alabama below is). Key Series vs South Alabama (May 13-15)
Coastal Carolina RPI: 15
Boyd's saying win 16 of 18 remaining. Four top 50 left with six 150+. Currently has 8 top 50 wins. Key series vs GT (Apr 29-May 1)
Florida Atlantic RPI: 18
Boyd's says "No way to reach the threshold." Seven top 50 left with three 150+. 3 top 50 wins to date. Key series @ Rice (May 13-15)
South Alabama RPI: 19
No way to reach the threshold. Three remaining top 50s and 6 150+. Currently 5 top 50 wins. Key Series vs Louisiana (May 13-15)
Rice RPI: 20
Boyd's suggests by winning out, Rice gets to top 8. Six top 50s left with 5 150+. Currently 3 top 50 wins. Key series vs FAU (May 13-15)
Minnesota 21 and TCU 23 probably ought to be discussed but I'm bored of looking at these. Everyone else in top 20 is either SEC or ACC.
Remember pretty much at least two of these have to be national seeds. Ugh
* This is probably high because Boyd's shows Texas as a net negative for us despite the win and they sit at 131

Pennington in left batting 8th tonight.

I guess he kinda earned that. Who is DH'ing?

Gotta be Joel Davis, doesn't it? (I've no idea, but I'd be very surprised if it is anybody else. Batting .351, slugging % second only to Melton.)
Hard to argue against Pennington... unless we get into a tight game where a Choruby steal is much needed.

Davis
It seems like we're just going hot hand among Gideon, Moroney, Choruby, Pennington, Bedford and Davis over the course of the year.
It's a little weird to me that a guy like Gideon barely plays. i guess they don't like how often he strikes out but the guy is hitting .294/.413/.627. It's not like he's been unproductive.
Even after Pennington's barrage Gideon has better numbers across the board. Just seems odd.

I actually love having Choruby on the bench for this exact reason. He can be a defensive replacement late and/or an elite pinch runner. Using Moroney as a PR lately has been a little odd.

I yield to your superior intellect, sir. Good answer.

Hmmm...this is going well. First 3 reach and it's 1-0 Eggys!

I truly despise Will Johnson's use of "pull side"

Every other SEC team we've played has had good-great baseball announcers. I like MJ, but WJ is garbage.

Without Coach, I truly would never turn the volume up. As it is I do it until I can't take it any more
