Looking ahead to this weekend. If we can do damage vs UGA then we can make up some ground in the SECW. State has to play UF, Arkansas-Ole Miss, and LSU-Vandy. Long term I am not worried about Bama yet.

I wonder if our starting pitchers (and some others as well) are just not trusting their stuff, or whether they're trying to be too fine.
Whatever the case, they've gotta stop issuing free passes.

I wonder if there will be a mix up in the rotation. I think Hill has done enough to warrant a shot at the weekend. I wonder if they'll look at Hendrix or Ecker move to starting. Just spit balling here because clearly <7 innings combined for your starters is beyond terrible.

there almost has to be, doesn't there?

I'm not a huge fan of RC's in game management and I was somewhat annoyed how quickly he pulled Ivey friday given our obvious pitching issues. But I admit a strong case can be made for dumping him in that spot because he was pitching awfully.

We need more out of our Fri/Sat starters in particular. I'm going to give Vines a pass this week because of the illness but Simonds is in my crosshairs. He was outstanding last year out of the pen. He was bad last year starting. He's starting now and is bad. Ergo ipso......

I'd like to try Vines/Hill/Ivey. Ivey is not your typical Sunday guy but I think it puts a lot less pressure on him and let's two other guys attack hitters that he can watch and learn. Put Simonds in long relief/setup.

Also. prep Larkins for a bigger role. His switch to a 2-seamer is still a work in progress but it was filthy vs Florida. He just couldn't throw it for strikes. Get him out there and practicing it and if he can find a rhythm, he'll be fine. Everything from here should be prepping us for a Regional/Super.

Well that is different. I guess why not since he only threw like 40 pitches on Friday. I wonder if he comes back for Sunday.

Childress said today that Hendrix isn't being considered for a weekend rotation spot, but Hill is.

No video announced yet that I can find for the Rice game. Anybody?

ETA: Aw crap. What is it with Houston schools? It's another blackmail job, this time from riceowls.com. Same $9.95/month deal. Wankers!

Ivey gives up a leadoff single.
Weird bunt that goes off Barash's shinguard then foul, and runner can advance? Not sure I get that.

Ivey gets a leadoff out this time. Better!
Don't remember how a runner got on after that, but a very nice 3-6-3 DP ends it.

1-1 after 3.
