I think we'll be fine, but it always hurts to lose an arm.
Happy Friday:

Message from Tyler's dad.

quote:

I just wanted to say thanks for the time Tyler had. He made a mistake and has suffered the consequences of that decision. He's a good kid and yes I'm his father and I will stand by him always and be there for him. I know he will move forward and learn from this. It will be hard for him because he loved, truly loved A&M, the team mates, the 12th man and coaches he had there.
He truly loved and respected coach Childress. Rob is a very special Coach and better person. He truly cares about his players and works to develop them not only as players but most importantly as young men. We can not say enough about how we appreciate everything he did for Tyler and what he does for all his kids and he truly does think of them as his. Any parent who's kid is fortunate enough to have Coach recruiting them I will only say this to you. There is not another Coach in the country that will take your son and do his very best to make him into a great player and person. You will never have to worry about your son. I can promise you that.
Texas A&M is the greatest school on earth and the 12th man is second to none. This team is going to do great things this year I promise you that and we will be right there cheering them on.
God Bless you all and Gig'em!

Not the kind of thing you hear much from parents any more. Good on him.

I've read in several venues that it was a 3rd offense regarding a smokeable substance. No idea how reliable that is.

So we throwing flames this year. Gabe just said Hendrix has hit 101 on the gun! Now from behind is Ecker who's hit 99.

I'm 100% pro-pot, but if it's a rule for your baseball team that you signed up for, you're an idiot if you get caught 3 times. Rules are rules; glad Childress is at least enforcing them. It's a shame I can go outside of my house, walk 3 blocks, and buy some from a fricking store but Stubbs gets kicked off the team for basically the same thing. Oh well.

A few random baseball tidbits

Team USA honors Hendrix closing no-no last Summer vs Cuba.

Apparently bow ties are in for roster pics. Tyler Ivey wins though

Here is my stab in the dark at how our rotation will work. (Would love to get TMC's opinion on what he thinks it will be)

Fri - Simonds
Sat - Ivey
Sun - Vines
Tue - Martin

Closer 1 - Hendrix
Closer 2 - Ecker

The Big 12 TV schedule came out. They have 7 regular season games on national TV. By comparison, A&M has 10.

My best guess:
1. Birk - 2B
2. White - 3B
3. Banks - CF
4. Melton - 1B
5. Davis - LF
6. Gideon - DH
7. Pennington (R) / Kopetsky (L) - RF
8. Barash - C
9. Janca - SS

Gabe's projected line up.
