We just need to get through this cycle and hope for a big recruiting year in 2017 after a surprising year on the field in 2016. 2016 is once again our make or break football year.

Good points all around. Even when Texas is missing bowl games, they will still manage to get a few choice recruits that we want. It's just going to happen. And I completely agree that this year is very similar to the Boyd/Hill/Jefferson misses last year.
That being said, the urgency to land a top 10 class is simply not the same as it was a few years ago. The defensive depth has been built over the years. And the few key areas that we need bodies (DB, RB, OL, QB), we are more or less set with the current commits. The rest is just gravy.
It sounds like there is good chances at landing Giles, Davis, and Pennamon. After that, the only major need is another LB which Hansford may very well fill.
If Sumlin holds onto the current commits and adds the ones above, this recruiting class will be very solid.

Now it appaears McCulloch's HS coaches are saying they believe he is leaning A&M. Who fricking knows.

If we can finish with Brandon Jones, Davis, Giles and Hansford and keep Jackson and the others that's still a pretty solid class. Not what we were hoping for when the cycle began, but it's not going to set us back

Imo, I don't think anyone has a single clue what Giles wants to do. Nobody from LSU or Texas or A&m. He's been interesting. The tu side was very confident after his Ov and the LSU side chalked him down as part of the class after their Ov. Now there's some a&m buzz in the air over on 247 so this could get weird.
In my p&g veins all I feel is a kid that decommitted from Tenn like the day after he got his LSU offer, but that was also during his Ov in Austin.
We shall see.

Does LSU really have a need for Giles? Already have 3 higher ranked DT committed, do y'all really have that many holes to fill on the DL this year?

One of our biggest issues this year was depth on the DL
