So if you believe Taylor Hamm, we're gonna strike out on just about all our remaining targets.

Not gonna happen, and a new big name OC may even bring some new surprises with him

Sounds like Sumlin and Banks are reeling Irv Smith back in.

Imo, and I hate to say it but the window for that to be a big impact is shrinking. I think Sumlin needs to go ahead and do it if he's going to do it. A new OC is going to need some time.

I think it's obvious now that the trigger won't/can't be pulled until Jan 1st

With all the chaos we'll be lucky to sign a top 30 class. I hope I'm wrong and Sumlin pulls a rabbit out of his arse but A&M has a stench on it right now.

We'd have to have a bunch of decommits and not land anyone to end up outside the top 30. As bad as things seem on the field and in the locker room, I don't think it's that bad on the recruiting trail.

If we do nothing more than keep what we currently have, we end up at about 24.

Recruiting shakes up anytime there are staff changes, but usually not nearly as much as fans fear.

How many decommits has UGA had? Sherman/Sumlins class? Most kids know in 4 years you have a good chance at playing for more than one position/head coach.

Retirement rumors had been really hurting spurriers recruiting and were a big part of his down turn.

Not to mention muschamp is just a good recruiter.

Our D recruits are just fine. As long as Chavis is here, they're here.

We are in the running to steal a difference maker in Divinity.

If we somehow have a great showing in the bowl game all that stench goes away. With a new OC and recruits seeing that we have a good QB, I think everything will work out.

Of course that's why you have hit pieces by chimp brown. Our rival desperately want to keep this burning as long as possible.

If we win the bowl game, hire a "name" OC and Sumlin starts working like a man whose job is on the line we MIGHT be able to close on some guys.

Isn't it a dead period?

Sure but my point was that I don't see how the window is closing if it is a dead period.

In fact, I could see an argument for wanting the hire to hit RIGHT at the end of the dead period, as then kids could talk to the new OC soon after the hiring hype (if the OC is a splash).

Recruits can still contact staff's during dead period, coaches can't visit etc.
