He's not the type to negative talk schools, but I don't doubt he will get in Sheffield's ear. They are fairly close. Whether that helps remains to be seen, but I still see Sheffield in College Station

He must mean it if he said it, but that's right now, not when he needs to commit. I'd be surprised if he doesn't stay in Texas

We're so stacked at the position with 4 and 5 star guys, I wonder if depth chart issues are creeping in ala Tyron Johnson. And Lodge has always been a tough cookie to figure out a lot like how Speedy was last year. But the kid is a beast and I know we want him pretty bad. Wherever he decides to go, he'll be a gamer, no doubt.

So his top 3 were LSU, OM, Clemson? Interesting.
Btw, don't count out Ole Miss. I hadn't heard their name associated with his recruitment but I asked about Quiv and was told if anyone was a factor on his recruitment it would be Quincy.

He's originally from Jackson, Mississippi, I think so I would imagine he followed them as a kid

I know you were saying yesterday about the 16' class that we might not even take a receiver if we take more than 3 this cycle when we had a brief discussion regarding Reggie Hemphill, and judging by the talent we picked up in the '13 and '14 classes, that is what I was simply going by. A lot of 5 star kids playing receiver for big programs in high school... some of them have adopted the attitude on ok if I go with this program, how soon can I shine as the #1 guy.. a lot like the "one-and-done" kids in basketball. You said it yourself on why we're fading a bit with Tyron Johnson. He wants to be "THE WR" for someone and not part of a bigger picture. Perhaps Lodge is thinking the same approach? Maybe it's simple as wanting to go out of state, who knows ? I never inferred that he's a shoe in for us but from all the love on texags and 24/7 on how "blown away" he was about his past visit, it's a bit surprising nevertheless, no?

I just wouldn't read so much into a random comment from a 16 year old.
As far as our WR depth, my comment in '16 was predicated on us taking 4 in '15 and not having any attrition.

He moved to Cedar Hill in the 8th grade so that could be why he doesn't have that infatuation with in state schools

well it really has seemed like he has throughout his entire recruitment. I have a hard time taking this honestly when he doesn't even have Baylor in his top 3
