I have OU friends who simultaneously hate on Sumlin and claim he will bolt to OU whenever Stoops is gone. It's quite interesting. Him treating him them like a red headed stepchild in the recruiting trail from the moment he set foot in CS then bitchslapping them around in the Cotton Bowl has really fricked with their psyche. Unfortunately since the Sugar Bowl they've all come crawling out of their holes

Merritt is just as good if not better
I wouldn't make that comparison at all. Merritt looks incredibly explosive on film but you always question the comp a little. When you see those combine numbers, it's over for me.
At 5'11" 206 he's even got good size. He's the complete package and is not good, he's elite and the kind of guy you make room for imo.
Hasty is essentially Bradford but smaller. Gray (who I assume you are talking about but he plays for Episcopal, not Bellaire) just lacks that sort of explosiveness. Both are really good backs who in most years would be screaming takes, but I think we pass on a 3rd back if it comes down to them.

Yeah, the combine numbers really is what I meant about putting him (merritt) over the top rather than competition. I really do like the ones we have committed now though too in Bradford and Anderson and I agree if we took a 3rd back its Merritt or next year although if Ronald Jones ever has a change of heart I wouldn't exactly complain if we picked him up but in all seriousness, that's probably not going to happen, heh. Hasty is a good kid, it's just unfortunate it's 2015 for him.

yeah, I'm down on Jones. I have a hard time thinking of a taller guy like him that runs so tall that has had success at the college level as a RB. I'm no scout but he seems a ton like Brandon Williams.
They look amazing in HS film but struggle to translate it to a higher level. I also think that upright style makes it difficult to block well because you don't naturally have leverage. I'm not sure there is a single pass play in any of Jones's film (blocking or receiving) and so it does leave something to the imagination how he'd fit in our offense

This is interesting, where did you read this?

Malik Jefferson thread
Btw, going there again I saw a thread on Roney Elam. What I took from that is Sooners are not good at geography because the discussion has devolved into getting a foothold in Houston

Nice that every sing points to us getting Malik.
If you watched Daylon's interview w/ Rivals, it was obvious he could barely keep himself from blurting out that Malik is all-A&M.

Boyd just tweeted his top 4. Are we even still recruiting him?

we're not not recruiting him. If he does what Sumlin laid out, he will get an offer. Pretty much the same state we left it in January only now we fans know a bit more

believe that was just an escalation of the issue at hand. From what I understand, everyone expects he'll be playing in the fall.

Is he transferring or his situation is expected to improve? Count me as a fan that's perplexed

It is my understanding that it is expected to improve. Apparently this is punishment of some sort. Situations like this are always murky because no one likes to out and out say what the deal is.

Is it just me or is twitter down? I can't load twitter today on my phone through tweetcaster or the website.

the first Opening Camp was held today in LA. In completely unsurprising news, WR Christian Kirk was awarded an invite to the Opening. Kirk was one of 3-4 Juniors that went last year. He did not participate in their combine yesterday so no test numbers or measurements.
Kirk's numbers from last year's Opening:
5-10 185, 4.49 (40) 4.15 (shuttle) 36.3 (vert) 115.83 (SPARQ)
