im assuming will if he really is an OLB like his 247 profile says and the fact we are already recruiting malik as a sam

he'd be a fricking giant of a WILL
Dude's listed at 6'2" 225.
Did a quick check thru his hudl and it appears they play 33 stack as a base defense and he plays outside. It seems like everyone they play runs 4 WR sets. Dude can move though so it wouldn't shock me to see him end up at WLB. I think he's a MLB though.

2021 recruiting?

It’s not too often that you see a kid going into 5th grade who stands at 5’11, 205 pounds, but there’s a certain prospect from Houston, Texas that’s towering over the others. Big, bad, Hayden Conner is only 11-years-old but he has already accomplished more than most youth football players achieve in their entire careers.
quote:
“If I had to pick my dream school it would be between LSU and Texas A&M,” said Conner. “Right now, I’d go with LSU because Les Miles pulled me off of the field at camp this summer and told me he can’t wait to see me come back and play in purple and gold.”
quote:
To help achieve those goals, Conner is always training in the gym and working on different areas of his game with his coaches to get to the next level. He also likes to study film and watch the techniques of his favorite players and tries to model his game after some of the NFL’s best.

Let's see how good he is when everyone else catches up in size and strength.

When I was 11, I said I wanted to go to Cal because of Saved by the Bell: The College Years. True story.

im so happy im back on rivalries
quote:
If Charlie Strong wants to set the world on fire in 2015 recruiting, and by setting the world on fire I mean taking control of the Lone Star State back away from the Aggies, I've got just the challenge for him that might accomplish just that.
Go get Gladewater defensive tackle Daylon Mack. Go get Texas A&M defensive tackle commit Daylon Mack.
In a year when the defensive tackle needs for the Longhorns are as severe as they've been in a decade, this is the guy they've got to get and if they can find a way to drive a wedge between Mack and the Aggie coaches to whom he's been committed since October 22 of last year, Strong might just find that the pathway to the type of recruiting class that can punctate his first year in Austin might be wide open.
Not only is Mack one of the top players in the state of Texas, but he's also an unofficial pied piper for sorts for a huge block of East Texas recruits in his class. Although he may or may not be the best overall prospect in Texas, there definitely hasn't been a more influential prospect around these parts to be found because it seems like every top prospect in the state has an open ear to Mack.
Therefore, he needs to priority No. 1 for Strong and the rest of the Texas coaching staff and the recruiting pitch doesn't have to be rocket science.
If you want to play championship defense, are you going to go play for a head coach that hasn't had a top-flight defense at any point in his tenure as a head coach or are you going to go play for a head coach whose entire reputation is built around what you're looking for?
A&M coach Kevin Sumlin joked this week that he needed to get him some more gadgets based on the way he recruited in 2014, but at some point Strong's message of substance over show has to sink in if the Texas coaches can simply deliver the velvet sledgehammer throughout the next year. Yes, the Texas coaches will remind him, "Coach Sumlin is good with offense, DJ booths and helicopters, but are you about maximizing your abilities as a defensive player and winning championships because that's what we're about."
All the Texas coaches need is a chance. Get Mack on campus once and see if once can become twice and twice becomes three times.
Establish your message and make Sumlin prove in 2014 that he's about substance. Make him prove that he's not just a guy that happened to be the coach when Johnny Manziel showed up. Texas needs to create doubt in his mind and then it needs to let that doubt fester during a 2014 season that figures to be just about anything but championship caliber.
It won't be something that happens in the blink of an eye, but quest needs to be issued and fulfilled …
Go get Daylon Mack.

I hope we are in almost constant contact with DM for just that reason. We need to keep stepping on tu's neck in recruiting until they choke to death.

this is the part that kills me. Whoever wrote that treatise is investigating what I think is an interesting point, but I think their conclusion is dead wrong.
But the question is a good one imo. What strategy should you employ when you are out of favor? We've had a number of recent examples and when I get a minute, I'll lay them out. If Strong and his staff are smart, they are discussing that very question.
