Went and saw Kyler on Friday. There's not much to report outside of he's a stud Made a variety of throws, but I think that Allen team is going to lose a game or two. If Marcus had any resemblance of a defense, they could have won that one.

Also, it's funny how there are jock sniffers even for Kevin. I sat with the Murray family and he had like three people trying to talk to him the whole time while he was just trying to watch the game. That would get so annoying for me

Reports are the Malik will no longer be going to the Ole Miss game, and instead going to UT/OU that weekend...per his mom's request. Not the greatest news IMO

At this point he pretty much knows what we're about. We need to get him here for as many visits as possible, but it's not as if a visit is going to be some game-changer for the young man. The big thing for Sumlin is to impress his family at this point.

You're correct with the family...and that's my point. The reason he is going to the UT/OU game is his mom wants to go. From what I can tell and have read she loves UT and Strong. I'm never confident when Momma likes somewhere else

Yeah it's definitely concerning. They are getting good pub with Goodell checking them out as well. At least OU will likely go in raw

Mom has been fairly vocal about UT and Strong all along. Dad has not.

At the end of the day mom may see things differently as their program crumbles over the course of the next 3 months.

Lots of time left in his recruitment.

And Goodell going to see Strong is a complete joke. I'm still speechless

Last time he visited, he got to watch Neuheisel beat her beloved sips.

This time, she'll get to watch OU rape them.

Do we have a Floyd Raven situation perhaps?

This doesn't seem like a good situation for us at all

Unless Sumlin turns on the charm to mom I don't see him coming here. He hasn't been here since Junior Day and been to Austin multiple times. Can only hope Sooner blows them out in the first half and horns go home at halftime pissing mom off.

Didn't he say after he didn't come to Rice game that we was coming to Ole Miss game? Or am I making that up? Now moma wants to go to ou/tu on same day. This doesn't sound good.

Is it possible this could have something to do with the McNeal offer? I originally thought it could be due to uncertainty around Richard Moore following his (and Damarkus') comments.

Landon Collins' mom is a huge LSU fan.

One of her sons plays for Alabama, the other for Florida.

Floyd Raven's mom wanted him to go to Ole Miss.

Mom doesn't make the final call.

All indications are that Mom likes Sumlin as well, she just likes sip and Charlie better. Thus I don't think there is an "I hate Aggy" situation. It's pretty clear Malik likes A&M better and all his boys are going to be Aggies.

Be nice for Bob to go ahead go Barry Switzer and "hang half a hunerd" on sippy for us though.

Malik on Sumlin's visit.

A few quotes:
quote:

The original plan was for Jefferson to be in Aggieland next weekend when the Aggies host the Ole Miss Rebels. However, Malik’s mother wants to attend the Red River Rivalry for her birthday that day. While that may seem like the family is tipping their hand with that decision, Jefferson says it’s nothing like that at all.

“It means nothing that I’m going to this game and we chose this one over going to A&M,” he said.

quote:

That’s raised some concern for maroon and white faithful but the Nation’s top outside linebacker says he’ll be in College Station sometime this fall.

“You’ll see me down there,” he said. “I’m trying to find time in my schedule to get down there. I want to get down there when all the guys are in town. To be honest, I’m fine with all the in-state schools and seen what I’ve needed to see. You need to take looks again to make sure you’re not missing anything so that’s basically what I’m doing right now.”

bolded - meaning all his friends that are committing / have committed to us.

quote:

I just want to see how the season goes for some of these schools. That’s basically it.”

This is the strongest reason I think he'll be an Ag. He has been very clear from the get-go that he was waiting until the end of the season because he wanted to: (1) see how everyone did, especially us once Manziel was gone, and (2) see if we made any defensive improvements, which he clearly sees that we have.

And on the flip side to that, UT-Austin is going to crumble over the next 6 games. They won't make a bowl game more than likely. They are going to have more "purges" and probably some decommitments from players that wouldn't even get offers from Aggie/Baylor/SEC

Yesterday showed that our biggest need by far is linebacker.

The only returning linebackers we have in 2015 will be

Mastrogiovanni (Junior)
Hilliard (Junior)
Washington (Junior)
Alaka (Sophomore)
Walker (Sophomore)
Chevis (Sophomore)
Wade (Sophomore)

You can pretty much rule out Chevis and Wade so that leaves us with basically 5 players with experience at LB, assuming no one gets arrested.

We have Moore, Durham, and Garner committed and it may not be a bad idea to spin Lockhart up to Mike. We need Malik Jefferson in the worst way.
