As they should, but crazy stuff happens in baseball. Great teams lose and bad teams make runs. If we get a national seed and don't make the CWS, I don't want Childress fired.

yeah, I think the offensive numbers this year buy Childress a pass no matter what happens. The big grumblings I heard last year were that it's the same every year - great pitching, no hitting. And he's gone thru hitting coaches like Slocum did OCs and they all look the same, suggesting it was a philosophy problem up top.
I do think residual resentment will remain if we collapse in the post-season and could put him on the hot seat if the offense regresses next year. But I think Will Bolt's offense has breathed new life into the program. It's a complete team finally. It's pretty hard to be unhappy with the product right now.

Even if we go 0-2. It'd be embarrassing for sure but not enough to fire him after finishing in the top 8 with out our 2 best pitchers.

Looks good to me, but it might be the ONLY game. 20% chance of rain today (0% from 5PM to midnight), then it goes to Hell. 80% Saturday, 90% Sunday.

there's a 72 hour window to get games in beginning tonight at 630. If we can't play 3 in that time it's cancelled. Teams can add games to the schedule to get to as many as 56 but we won't. We don't want to add a bunch of filler games and wear out our pitching.
I bet we get at least 2 of 3 in this weekend. We have maybe the best field crew in the country and Olsen drains really well so if there's a window without rain, we'll get em in.

I've always liked Rob Childress but had no idea he was this successful. According to Will Johnson he has "led A&M to 8 consecutive NCAA championships." So all you naysayers can STFU
