Over on TA they think he will probably come for a visit but that could depend on his Official visit to Texas this weekend. Sounds like LSU is also going after him now.

Chip Brown's sources are nothing if not reliable. Seems legit.

TMC looks like Kenny Iloka wants to go to Boise St like his brother but doesn't hold and offer currently.

Iloka's recruiting has heated up the last few weeks. Apparently he got an offer from TCU and is officially visiting there this weekend. On Monday he will make an official visit to tu as they offered him today. Going to be pretty funny if he shows up and there are no coaches but whatever. Signing day for midterm JUCOs is next Wed.

We need to shite or get off the pot with him. My understanding (though it's a few days old) is the plan is to offer if we miss on Steven Parker as the staff feels like we need another safety that is ready to play next season. Our next hs offer at the position probably wouldn't be. But the timeframe is awful tight right now.

Reading between the lines, Perroni just flipped Iloka's crystal ball from A&M to tu and though he hasn't made a prediction on Parker, that seems pretty telling that we're not moving on Iloka.

I really liked iloka's film, but I'd much rather get Parker obviously...

If we can land Parker and iheanacho, everything else is bonus too me. Hopefully a couple Crown Jewels down the stretch.

Nacho is visiting Oregon sometime in the next week I think. Apparently he wasn't expecting an offer from them anytime soon and they surprised him with one. Pretty sure he is still leaning towards us pending this visit but Oregon and LSU are not far behind.

ETA: He is announcing at the army all-american game.

welp, it's official Mack Brown is staying. I didn't think it was possible to go forward as is but apparently they are going to try. There is no doubt the clown show this week absolutely castrated his ability to recruit and people like Briles and Patterson will go brass knuckles on his arse on the recruiting trail.

And it locks up this shitty class for them as well as the dead weight in next year's class because those guys will be committed for like a year and a half before they get around to firing Brown. Unbelievable turn of events for us on the trail imo

yep. amazing. they now basiclally have no chance with kendall, soso, or malik for 2015 and are behind the ball for gregory little, ed oliver, and brandon jones for 2016

not even to mention what briles and patterson are going to be able to take from them

So now that the Longhorn Network is reporting Brown's resignation, who could we poach?

it's likely just Alaka and those quotes are above.

Their class pretty much blows. Those at the bottom of the class better start looking around as I'd expect several to be cut loose by the new coach more than anything. There's an unbelievable amount of trash in there. Same with 2015 really.

I did see this quote: "Keep an eye on Armanti Foreman. It seemed likely he'd decommit if Mack [left], but he changed his mind this week. Playing with D’Onta matters more." It's interesting. And since D'Onta isn't going to qualify it makes me think Armanti isn't off the board for us. But I've heard nothing from our side on him in forever.

Derick Roberson is almost certainly going to decommit as well but we already passed for non-talent reasons and then got our DEs. Their next coach (who I think will be Mora) will snag some talent late but it's going to be a bad year for them. This should save '15 for them though.

Hope we can get Alaka to take a visit now. He would be a good pickup.

I would really like us to get at least one of Alaka and Young. Freeman would be great as well. Just can't get too many high end LB's.

S Kenny Iloka has decided to commit to TCU. Hopefully we don't regret this non-offer. I'm hearing positives on Parker but if we miss, I have no idea who we'll target.

incredibly interesting comment:
quote:

Coach Brown said [to recruits] every scholarship that had been extended by him or his staff would be honored in the future and that they didn’t have to worry. - Blake Munroe, 247

I imagine this only means those accepted offers but is it a prerequisite for the new coach that he can't cut anyone loose? I'll be shocked if they are bound to that but I suppose it depends on who comes in.

That would be a big negative for me if I was taking the job if it was even suggested. Given the time frame of the likely hire, I could accept the '14 kids just because it would be fricking them over (though I'd probably suggest to a few of them they ought to look around), but no way you could hold me to those 2015 offers.

That's pretty weird. There is no f'ing way I'd take that job if they tried to tell me that.

yeah, I mean it's one thing to have to deal with someone else's players. You can't change that. But to basically be forced to take their recruits too? That's like handicapping someone for multiple years after he takes the job.

It'd be one thing if we're talking about just a few guys but they have a full class for '14 already and 9 commits for '15. NINE. That's more than 1/3 of the class.

The other tough part about that is most of their commits aren't good football players
