I'm assuming Texas A&M has to follow the 25 man class limit this year now they are in the SEC.

Yes, but we can still count back 3 Dec grads to take 28.

LSU fans are hilarous....Noel Ellis only has 22 division one offers that he shows on Rivals....of course if LSU didn't offer there is NO WAY he could be a top ten player in Louisiana.

I'm sure the LSU guys will let us know how little they really wanted Kyrion Parker anyway...

Not at all. I wanted Parker, felt he had a great offer list, was blowing up at camps, and felt good about his commitment. Didn't think his decision would be dictated by another players lack of an offer but that seems to be the case and it cost us a good player. I don't feel the same way about Ellis, am happy he wasn't offered by us, and am happy he's going elsewhere.

You're catching on quick... Arkansas already has 3 or 4 commits from Louisiana, of course, there's no way LSU was even remotely interested. Probably didn't even know who they were, they were so lowly rated.

Personally, I put him in the 15-20 range. He's not better than Diarse, Beckwith, Dobard, Williams, Jefferson, Smith, Claiborne, Cutrer, White, Brazil, Patterson, Jones, Boutte, etc. I could name several other players that are arguably better than him as well (Baker, Santa Marina, Falkins, Baker, Hoefield, Lewis, and Malone).

So no, I don't think he's a top ten player in LA despite what rivals says.

I think Blanchard is a good player but one of those things where RB isn't a need position for us this year and in another year he could have very well received an offer. We are pretty deep at RB this year and with Fournette and Brossette (2014 and 2015) LA RB's already offered, we weren't pursuing him.

Lot of unknown about Johnson because he changed schools.

And we have other TE's higher on the board and Skinner wasn't there.

Just glad the LSU staff doesn't think enough of Ellis to offer because I think we got a good one...and from the sound of things it doesn't sound like an LSU offer would have made a difference anyway. Now time for Parker to jump on board!!! Would be nice to return the favor to LSU on a Texas kid after they have stolen some LA commitments from us over the years.

Seems pretty obvious he was trying to use his leverage to get his buddy an offer and when it didn't materialize and his buddy committed to you, he's going there.

Maybe so....we offered Parker after you did....and we offered Garner before we offered Parker. All I know for a fact is that it looks like a Texas kid is staying in state to play for A&M....hopefully we pick up some wins in the SEC in the coming years. That will lead to more kids realizing the don't have to go to LSU anymore to win and play in the SEC. We still win the majority of Texas battles over LSU anyway.....but have lost out on some big names over the years.

Yeah this was the only reason they picked LSU over aTm.

Re: Jervonte Johnson... he also plays QB for Amite - but he came to Arkansas camp (cousin of Brandon Mitchell) and they gave him a try at WR and offered him on the spot. Evidently he's a natural a WR. Not rated anywhere yet, a true 'unknown', but got a feeling he won't be unknown for long.

I'm not knocking the guy I just don't know anything about him. Anytime a kid shows up to a camp and is good enough to get an offer in person where he was relatively unknown prior to that, it's impressive regardless of his star ranking. Like I said, I really do like Blanchard but it's just one those years where you have other needs. Not a knock on him as a player just a bad year for us to be recruiting a RB. There's still a few out there but I don't think we'll take one in this class.

How? You weren't even in the SEC last year. It should be a solid 25 for A&M and Mizzou

Winning is what matters....plenty of Texas kids pick A&M over LSU. LSU has been winning....if we can flip that then LSU's pipeline to Texas will dry up....like I said LSU loses most of the battles in state anyway. 2012 state of Texas recruits.. Rivals shows LSU offered A&M signees Mike Matthews, Matt Davis, Edward Pope and Trey Williams. LSU won out on A&M offers... Danielle Hunter and took Cory Thompson at the last minute. Let's not pretend that big bad LSU can come into Texas and take whoever they want.

...and this percentage includes the most successful ten years in the history of LSU football...like I said before LSU has taken plenty of outstanding talent out of Texas....A&M starts winning again and that pipeline starts to shrink even smaller.

Good luck at showing the SEC who is boss in the coming years. If anything Texas kids might begin to realize aTm has no business in the SEC and that they should go to another Texas school if they want to win games in college.

They sure could.....never said we would "show the SEC who is boss" We have a HUGE mountain to climb up...no doubt....but let's not pretend the main reason Texas recruits choose LSU...they are winning and winning BIG!!! A&M has a ton of work to get to that level but IF they can it will go a long way to keeping LSU from taking the few very talented kids they get out of the state every year.

Our pipeline has absolutely nothing to do with the successes and failures of Texas aTm. Neither does OU's. It doesn't work that way and hasn't for quite some time.

When was the last time A&M was winning? And how could they be winning more now that they're in the same division as two top 3 preseason teams and a top 25 one as well?
