So I guess Mrs. Wishn is at the point of demanding we take a trip or she’s gonna stab me or something, we’d like to go somewhere with a lot of outdoor activities like hiking and maybe some cool falls to look at and stuff like that. Anyways, point of the thread is I know there are places with that kinda stuff in East Tennessee but not being from over yonder I don’t really know which specific places are the best to go to so any tips would be appreciated

Probably stay 2 nights or something like that

Get a cabin in Wears Valley.

First day go to Cades Cove
Second day go to Gatlinburg or Dollywood

I’ll look into it, I’m all for Cades Cove But I’m pretty much over Gatlinburg at this point

Where to stay: Wears Valley or Walland

Where to avoid getting lodging: Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Sevierville.

Walland or Townsend imo

Or drive the extra 1.5 over the mountains to Western NC.

Or go to Frozen Head (hidden gem, seriously) and eat the finest pizza in the land at Partners Pizza in lovely Wartburg, TN.

Ummm, I’m pretty sure he said he wanted outdoors stuff. Pigeon Forge has bungee jumping, go-karts, and water slides. That’s really all there is to do outdoors, so if he’s ruling out PF then he’s gonna be shite out of luck.

He said he wanted outdoors activities like hiking and proximity to waterfalls. Pigeon forge doesn't offer either and it's a bogged down tourist trap. Drive to it if you want gokarts and hotdogs. There are better places to get lodging.

Yea not to interrupt this potential epic wrasslin match between two icons of Vol posting but the shitty tourist trap like stuff is exactly why I want to avoid Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Ain’t much for that entire area, it’s nice once or twice but after that I’m not really interested. I’m more into camping, hiking, and outdoor sightseeing

All that said, I will whip all your asses at some gocarts

I don't spar with the don on 99% of topics. There are better destinations than PF for what you're trying to do though.

He can hike in between all the attractions. And I'm sure they have a Golden Coral somewhere there, so he can go there for his chocolate waterfall fix.

And I'm not sure I've ever encountered anyone who has legitimately suggested Pigeon Forge as a vacation spot, lol. I realize I haven't been posting much, but the tone was missed in that post. Wishin', do not actually take the Mrs. there.

It's been too long my old friend. Swing and a miss on my part for letting that one sail directly over my head.

Wishin, if you’re looking for the best Golden Corral, the one off Clinton Hwy is KING.

A remote cabin up in the mtns on the fringe of Gatlinburg is OK with me depending on the season. PF is always a hard no though
