See the model set by Alabama after the 2006-2007 season. Repeat. Make that impossible hire.

Yeah, I know it's not happening. Whatever. I don't see any good options.

Read the media, bro. It was Greg fricking Schiano and we screwed the pooch because he wasn't Gruden! VOLS fans are just inbred hillbillies!

Alright so this is from the same guy who told me about Gundy but the board is starting to get restless and it's largely revolved around the Haslams. He's saying that they are meeting to try to not only force Currie to resign but to also remove Haslam influence from the board. I think with this whole Pilot fiasco they think now is the best time to get him out of it. Additionally, and I know this is a big pill to swallow, but they've been in talks with Gruden (as has been reported by CBS) and once they are able to remove Haslam (as he's been the major roadblock on the matter) they're wanting to hire him. This all seems pretty "fantastical" so we'll see if it's legit but as you said, now is our last chance.

I don’t see how they are going to move in time, if at all. The only shot is if people prevent Currie from making a hire. Hands have to be forced. Getting Davenport to play along is crucial. Somehow, we have to talk sense into Jimmy Haslam.

No, he has to be removed. He's a tumor and WE ARE THE SURGEON

Supra is correct. There is no fixing Jimmy Haslam. Look at Cleveland. No NFL team is as perpetually shite as Cleveland. The NFL is set up to prop up the weaker teams with the draft, but they still suck. College football has no subsidies for sucky decision making. As long as he is involved, we will be shite and make shite decisions.

I'm not gonna give any mention of Gruden a second thought ever again

Pure fantasy at this point

Yeah, looking like Brohm. As I said it seemed highly fantastical but since he was right about the Gundy offer I thought I'd pass it along.

Brohm says no, at this point Currie is throwing shite against the wall hoping something will stick.

What are you talking about Brohm says no? Hyams was saying it was done

Lots of other people saying it's not done. The "he said no" people are mostly basing that off a tweet from a Purdue recruit who said "Brohm said he is staying at Purdue"...dunno what that is worth.

Imagine a lot of it has to do with breaking it to a team the right way, although we've been leaning on this a lot over the past few weeks, when we do find our coach, we will have some haze.

Hyams apparently though isn't one to put out stuff if he's not sure and has had good information all through this.

So one of two things, it's done and he's gotta get the word to his team, or there truly is a huge power struggle going on with misinformation and attempts to minimize others work between Currie/Haslam and the other boosters.

I was thinking about this a couple of days ago, and then Clay Travis pretty much said the same thing. Dump truck full of money.

Currie needs to call a press conference. He needs to have a chair surrounded by $50 million dollars in cash and a contract drawn up. 6 years, 42 million guaranteed. 7mil/year. The job is open. Field applications. See who wants to come to Tennessee. Stop getting turned down publicly. Do some turning down yourself, and pick the best person who steps to the plate. Get a fat(or skinny) stack of names and sit down with the Pumpkin King and pick a coach, and then resign.
