I mean they knew that Gundy had done this before so what if they did it knowing he'd likely turn it down and that we'd accept the shite hire they were going to make anyway?

My personal opinion (which means frick all) is that it was a publicity stunt. I don't think there was any real interest, just a chance to boost UT's name with everything that's gone on. And apparently Gundy got another raise, so it was mutually beneficial.

I’m glad they are relishing in the great publicity that comes with getting rejected by a coach on twitter lol.

They can easily turn around and say "see, nobody wanted the job" and hope we welcome Kevin Steele with open arms because they tried for the big name.

Lol I mean, frick, we've been publicly rejected like 30 times the last two searches. Who gives a god damn at this point.

Has a coach ever rejected us from his own personal twitter account?

We are in uncharted territory lol

I just don't understand why you even go for Gundy. He's an OSU alum and has been in the program for years now plus he already said no once before. Just a strange decision.

Because we either need to fire Curry now or make Tenn a DRY state. Curry and his "Hold my beer" bullshite is absolutely ridiculous!!!

You guys just got turned down by a 6-6, 1st year Purdue coach but you honestly don't think Strong would get the job done? I just don't get it. You would take Frost, but USF just lost to UCF in overtime. Strong is running a fast paced offense and he knows defense. And who is gonna be better in those southern living rooms Strong or Doern?

Well for one when I posted that Brohm hadn't turned us down yet

For two I said in my post I understood how we can't be choosy about this, I recognize ending up with Strong would be a win for us at this point

That doesn't mean I have to like it

As an aside, I personally believe programs in this situation should go after young up and comers, even if they are a bit unknowns, rather than retreads where you basically know what you are gonna get

I think that's a big part of our coaching issues since Kiffin left, trying retreads like Butch and Schiano who you are almost certain won't bring home a championship instead of taking a risk on some less known guys
