No, we wouldn't have known exactly what we needed to win.
But you're confusing having an advantage with actually capitalizing on it.
Kentucky still had to score the touchdown and execute the two-point conversion. LSU knew exactly what was coming and still couldn't stop it.
You won national championships with great players and coaches. Now you're trying to convince me Kentucky only won because of a coin toss.
At some point, you've got to give the team that made the plays some credit.

I think y'all played bama too soon.... if you played them again I feel like the outcome might have been different which is wild to think about.

Did LSU not score? Obviously we would have gone for 2 (and likely gotten it) if we knew we needed it.
The original post I replied to was about Kentucky being the "better team" than LSU. That's just not factual.

The Bama game was a wake-up call for us. Hats off to them. We just ran out of gas at the end. Everyone focused on the final score, but it was still close late in the third.
Stein learned a lot from that game and made adjustments, and as the season has progressed, so has the players' confidence. I never thought we would be here. If we pull off this dream season and somehow make the playoffs or the SECCG....
They will build a statue of Stein, name streets, and give that man whatever he wants.

The only ones wishcasting Kentucky losing is LSU fans. And Louisville fans. Everyone else has been fine about it.

Do you have more or less losses in the moment than Kentucky? More
Did you lose to Kentucky? Yes
Are you at 1st in the SEC? No
Those are all facts.

Nobody said LSU didn't score. But I love how you've gone from blaming the officials to arguing that LSU would've converted a two-point attempt it never actually attempted.
"Likely gotten it" isn't a statistic. It's wishful thinking.
And let's not forget that fourth-and-one late in the fourth quarter. LSU had a chance to go for it, keep the drive alive, and win the damn game in regulation. Instead, they didn't take that chance.
So before you blame a coin toss for losing in overtime, ask why your coaching staff let the game get there in the first place.
I'll concede that winning one game doesn't automatically make Kentucky the better team over an entire season. But it damn sure makes them the better team that night.
You can argue all day about which team has more talent, better players, or a greater history. But when the two teams lined up, Kentucky won.
And here's the part that's really eating you alive. You spent all week calling Kentucky a trash football program, and now you're desperately trying to convince everyone LSU is better than the team it lost to.
Kentucky doesn't need your respect. We've already got the win. LSU needs an excuse. And apparently, you've got an unlimited supply of those.

Record counting in October is what poverty programs (like Kentucky) do. October is for pretenders and November is for contenders.

Did you lose to Kentucky? Yes
Did I ever question that? Seems like you're deflecting because you know you're not the better team than LSU. Insecurity is understandable given Kentucky's football history.

See statement above about pretenders and contenders.

OU are wishing they stayed in the Big 12, they will be the new Nebraska, these "changes" always takes a powerhouse to the woodshed. Texas has never had what it takes. They are legends in their own minds, however I see them doing better than OU, they can buy players now.

You could make this claim if you beat us in regulation or stopped us from scoring in overtime. Neither of which happened.

Claiming asterisks in a loss is bitch boy behavior.
I don’t need to go any further than that in your DERRR MUH FACTS claims.

So now a win only counts if you beat us in regulation or stop the other team from scoring in overtime?
That's an interesting set of rules you've invented to avoid admitting LSU lost.
And you're conveniently ignoring that fourth-and-one late in regulation, when LSU could've kept the drive alive and potentially won without overtime. Your coaching staff made its decision, just like Kentucky did when it went for two.
The difference? Kentucky's decision worked.
You keep arguing about what LSU *would have done*, *could have done*, or *should have done*.
Kentucky doesn't have to argue hypotheticals. We have an actual result.
You don't get to rewrite the rules of football because you don't like the team that won. The scoreboard doesn't award points for talent, tradition, or hypothetical two-point conversions.
For a fan who keeps calling Kentucky football trash, you're working awfully damn hard to explain why LSU couldn't beat it.

That's rich coming from someone whose entire argument is that LSU would've won if the coin toss had gone differently.
I've given you the actual result. You've given me a collection of hypothetical scenarios where LSU might have won.
And now that you've run out of ways to explain away the loss, you've moved on to insulting my ability to argue.
Here's the difference between us. I'm defending something that actually happened. You're defending something you wish had happened.
If LSU had fought as hard to win the game as you're fighting to explain why they lost, we probably wouldn't be having this conversation.

And there it is.
We've gone from "LSU is the better team" to "Kentucky only won because of the coin toss" to "Just wait until somebody else beats you."
You couldn't celebrate an LSU win, so now you're hoping somebody else can do what LSU couldn't.
Kentucky could lose every remaining game, and we'd still have beaten LSU.
You're not rooting against Kentucky anymore. You're rooting for someone to avenge LSU's embarrassment.
