Respect for Sumrall for going for the TD.

Napier would've kicked it, imo.

He's dumb, he should kick the FG.

If you are going to come back, you will need it. And most likely you can avoid the shut out and keep the streak.

It's like you feel it's your job to follow me around and say the dumbest things on the board today.

You just wanted a better chance at a shut out. I'm always hoping the other team is dumb to go for it.

And you didn't get it anyway.

Of course I did. But that wasn't my point. Not surprised you missed it.

My point is that he should have gone for it, as that's the best chance to win the game, imo.

A lesser coach, concerned about worthless records, would've kicked the FG and preserved the streak.

Sumrall, didn't appear to give a frick, and just did the right thing. And it paid off for him.

That's why I said I respected him for it.

You called him dumb.

Only 2 more scores and 2 2pt conversions.

That's exactly what Napier did at Texas down 42 - 0 in the 3rd.

Down 24? You go for the TD and conversion

I don't think Napier would have there. Two score game with a TD and 2 point try. Still a puncher's chance.

Wrong.

The odds of getting onside kicks for a FG are higher than getting 3 2 point conversions in a row.

Odds wise you are better off going for onside kick to get the FG.

You have a 6% probability of making 3 2 point conversions in a row.

You have a 15-20% of getting an extra possession with an onside kick.

Absolutely, that was gutsy, and the correct football move - putting his team just 2 scores down — that type of “never quit” attitude bodes well for the Gators moving forward
