We have a coach that’s won multiple playoff games leading us.
Now it's time to do it with his own team. Kiffin won those playoff games.
If you all hadn't been so cocky, Kiffin could've lead you to a National Title game appearance and possibly even an NC.
Pete Golding doesn't get the benefit anymore of coaching a team another coach built.
Pete Golding is a drunk 6 - 6 level coach and you all know it.

It could have been but as Kiffin has admitted, he doesn’t do break ups well.
Seems everybody hates him on the way out. It’s like he likes to be hated.
Weird fella, like really weird. But a damn good coach for sure.

Considering it was your first legitimate chance in over 60 years to win a National Title and it will probably be another 60 years before you get a chance to win a National Title again, I think I would've swallowed my pride and let Kiffin coach the playoffs.

What a coincidence. We have an OC that’s won multiple playoff games.

That’s adorable. Like really adorable.
You can’t get chucked and sit in the corner chair. No SEC team lets their coach leave for another SEC school but stay on and coach/recruit their players.
We probably made it further with Golding anyways. I’m not sure Kiffin beats Georgia in NOLA.

I mean fine, it's you all who forfeited a chance to win a NC out of hubris and pride.
Maybe you forgot, but Kiffin beat UGA in 2024. And he almost beat UGA in Athens in 2025.
At best, Pete Golding leads that team to an 8 - 4 season, but more likely 7 - 5.
I know this, Kiffin beats Miami last year. That was on Golding.
If LSU had a coach leaving, but that coach was taking us to the College Football Playoff, I would swallow my pride and let him coach.

It’s fine….had a great run with Kiffin in Oxford. Lots of positives to his tenure.
And I wasn’t trying to troll with my comment. We knew losing Saban would alter the trajectory of the football team.
Ole Miss will be fine. They have a great team

You might but LSU admin couldn’t let that happen. No f’n way you let the Head coach stay in the building during portal season when he’s headed to your rival.
Maybe Kiff does better maybe he doesn’t, but you just can’t let that happen.
Done rehashing it. It’s all good. Kiff will do great in Baton Rouge. Appreciate what he did in Oxford but after 6 years it was probably time to move on. His awkwardness and strange personality can only last so long in one place.

What difference did it really make? You don't think Lane couldn't have poached almost any player he wanted to from his Ole Miss team? He didn't need to be on the sideline to do that.
By relieving him of duty, you actually just let him focus more on recruiting, hurting Ole Miss more than helping Ole Miss. Again, pure hubris and arrogance.

He hardly even took any Ole Miss players. Took 4 and only 2 are really any good.
We are fine. Quit worrying about Ole Miss. go worry about your strange arse coach

I’m old enough to remember when LSU was a proud program - as high as top 2 or 3 in the conference - that didn’t filter all of its accomplishments through comparisons to other programs.

It’s almost like he tried so hard to coach through the playoffs and end things on a good note
Posted on 9/5/26 at 11:56 pm to GreyReb
And left ole miss in the best shape it’s been in the entire history of the program

Sorry but we had to hear it from you and your sorry a** fan base all offseason. Now you're going to hear it from us the entire season.
I can't wait to shove it right in every Ole Miss's fans face when we destroy Ole Miss in Oxford and sent your program back to the 1980s to face 60 more years of futility with a drunk sorry excuse for a man in Pete Golding.
