He's referring to a play from the Alabama-LSU game where Nussmeier slid on a 3rd down play and was awarded a 1st down.

The officials reviewed it and made the correct call of spotting him down short of the line to gain because he gave himself up a half yard before getting the 1st.

That’s not how the rule was explained originally though 3 weeks ago. Gump McElroy said it’s when the “hips drop”. No mention of a slide vs dive.

It’s just the fact they make up rules as the game goes to favor Sankeys darling

The rule never changed. You’re unable to understand the rule. It’s typical for lsu fans.

I feel like there should be a cfb rule board for lsu fans.

He was talking to normal humans with functional brains who don’t need to have the difference between sliding and diving explained to them.

So your issue is with a television personality not explaining the rule properly and not with the rule itself?

Cool.

Next time listen to what the referee says and not some ESPN talking head.

It's evident a rules board for LSU fans wouldn't help. In fact, it would probably complicate things further .
