What podunk airlines have you been flying? frickin twilight zone lmao.
No idea why you feel the need to turn a thread like this into a dick measuring contest, but I’m a 2 Million Miler on United alone, and that doesn’t include the years living overseas and flying “podunk” airlines like Singapore Air and Quantas (most of it in the front of the plane).
There is absolutely no way you were streaming live sports on a plane in 2008, and you damn sure were not doing it on the regional feeder I started the day with.
We all get it. You’ve been on airplanes and spent money. If you think that makes you special here, then enjoy your little bubble.

I’m not measuring dicks. I knew that would get under your skin because you started the thread talking about “two commas” on the dumptrucks you sell.
It’s a simple fact that we’ve had free wi-fi on planes since 2008 & literally right now, as in today, on any normal commercial flight… you can stream regular wi-fi for free.
I just think it’s funny you believe we couldn’t watch live TV on planes before starlink.
Google is your friend, seriously.

My central point has been streaming live sports on a plane. Saying “wifi has been around since 2008” is just “likes to to fight guy” moving the goal posts. You want to look cool by saying this is nothing new, and yet you don’t and can’t refute the actual point being made.
Then, you double down with neck beard “Akshully” trope of “Google is your friend”.
FFS, pal, if you’re that desperate to pick fights, then get a life.

Here’s the sequence to help you out:
First came wi-fi on planes,
Then came streaming on planes,
Then came starlink
Why are you insisting starlink is the only way to watch sports on planes? This is really your first time?

Who would downvote this......jealous assholes, that's who!

You are selling so are you meeting a customer at a 3rd parties site so they can see how someone else uses it? I’m trying to figure out why you are demo-ing something off site?
It’s their site.

I thought the point was that he could stream games all the way there, including small regional flights. I did my share of flying from about 2000 to 2018, and a lot of smaller planes/shorter routes still didn't have internet at all, and you could forget it on puddle-jumpers.
Yes, it became increasingly possible to stream decent video on some flights as the years went on, more so cross-country and international, but I'm sure Starlink has made a huge difference in bandwidth, even on big jets, and all the difference in the world on smaller regionals and short hops.

No problem. I saw your initial post as simply being grateful for technology allowing you to not miss a CFB Saturday while in the air all day on a business trip. I'd damn sure be grateful in that situation too.
I once quit a job because they wanted me to start working Saturdays in the fall. I was young, and it was a shitty, easily replaceable job. That made it an easy decision, but we only get a precious few of these fall Saturdays a year.
Some of this tech is pretty amazing....at least until the robots take over and kill us all.

Yeah, I have no idea why that guy came in with the “You must be a yokel” crap. Must have come from the PoliBoard and forgotten to downshift. Kept arguing a point I never made.
Anyway, I don’t mind the travel. I traveled a lot when the boys were young, too, but was home and present for the important stuff, and they and Mrs. Zwin now have wanderlust with the best of them.
Mrs. Zwin owns a travel company and takes groups (mostly women) on treks to trails on several continents. Younger boy on 2-1/2 week honeymoon in Europe right now, and older boy taking a 6 month leave from a good job next year to cross from Morocco to the Balkans to Central Asia. They also saw hella places when we lived in Singapore 4 years.
Yeah, I’m just going to Calgary on this trip, but it’s still a scenic spot and a fun project. Off to Virginia the next week, ending in North Carolina to help son and DIL move into their new post.
I like the travel. Always have, and it’s led to my family seeing the world AND coming to see us every chance they get. They don’t seem feel like they missed something.

Oh, and for the record, I just got off my second flight. I misread the app and didn’t realize it was just “United WiFi” and not Starlink.
Thank goodness I was assured by that guy that I would have full access to stream whatever I wanted.
[Narrator: He didn’t.]
