UGA has Gurley, Marshall, and a walk-on.
He'd be guaranteed to play, even if Kamara comes.
Auburn's not in much better shape.
And I believe we're pitching him on filling the Onterio McCalebb role.

Who offered him first, UGA or Auburn?
Edit- Auburn did.
He'll probably go to Auburn then. Shucks.

Georgia offered yesterday, so I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Auburn

Well, if he put up big #'s, he came by 'em honest. That is a tiny school. I can't imagine he got much help from his OLine.

Not sure if serious? Your RBs are much better than ours.

Gurley/Marshall going into soph year. All running backs go to NFL after 3.
Ford (and/or Kamara) could play backup a year, redshirt a year while the other plays backup, and still have 2-3 years as the starter with literally no competition from other running backs, as of now.
Basically, if Kamara doesn't sign, Ford could get immediate backup role and would definately get reps, if Kamara does sign, even better, Ford could redshirt a year and possibly still get 3 full years as a starter before he goes to the NFL inthe first round.
The point is that UGA has no depth at RB, and the linebacker class is stacked, so no pressure to convert him like 5 star Richard Samuel, it just makes sense.

I don't know if you are just enamored with high profile recruits or what, but UGA does have a commitment from a RB already that will be MORE than serviceable. Perhaps even be a contributor as a freshman. Just because he isn't announcing on NSD, doesn't make him any less of a player...

You guys are also bound to pick up a stud RB next year. The state of GA has been insane lately with talent at all positions. In my mind Auburn is in more need because a) we sucked arse last year so every position is up for grabs, b) tre mason got most of his yards against bad competition and will be a junior, c) mike Blakey apparently has a bad work ethic and attitude that even the softy Chizik didn't let slide and Corey grant is apparently not very good, d) our juco RB may be good but he only has two years of eligibility. IMO Gurley is the best back in the SEC and is an absolute bruiser so he won't get hurt. Ford would ride pine at UGA for two years.

He ain't signed, he ain't enrolled, as of now, it's Gurley, Marshall, and a walk-on.
Ford should consider the UGA offer, that's all I'm saying.

And have to face the UGA linebacker corps annually.
Or go to UGA and face the Auburn linebacker corp annually.
If I were Ford's life coach, I'd tell him to go to UGA.

Graham and Jones are expected to see Johnathan Ford later in the week as Tennessee is still very much in the race and we get the feeling that it's a tight race between the Vols and Auburn. Ford and those close to him continue to communicate with Tennessee and have for the past several days, including when Ford was at Auburn. It will be interesting to see what Ford does this weekend, if anything, as he may shut it down before hand.
Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn will be with Ford Tuesday night and the Vols will have to survive another visit like they have done the past two weekends. Some expect Auburn to make a push for the four-star running back to commit.

The kids not going to UGA, and AU seems to be the team to beat right now

No one's concerned about UGA. As long as you have Richt, you guys will always be "5 yds short."
