quote:So when Cyrus and Calloway flipped to Bama that was ok, but now that its Walker its not? You recall flipping Kenny Bell from LSU? What about when Saban guilted Sentimore into staying with Bama when he finally received his LSU offer? You Gumps are so one sided.
So basically Muschamp is going to guilt the kid into visiting and possibly flipping?

Never said any of those situations were right either, but yet we aren't discussing those players, we are discussing Walker.
From what I understand you LSU fans have Reuben Randle and his father to thank for driving Bell off as Randle wanted to be the only WR in your class and told Miles to pull Bell's offer or Randle goes elsewhere. If I'm wrong, then correct it. I know nothing of the Sentimore situation so you could tell me ole' Harvey had his family held hostage and I would be none the wiser

Cyrus and Calloway were both very strange recruitments, esp with what we have heard about Cyrus. I sometimes wish Calloway would have stayed at Auburn.
That will be my last hijack of the thread. Back to Walker and Muschamp kidnapping him and torturing him for 2 weeks to make him EE to Florida.

Thinking the same or he just ends up at UF with Walker. His mind is so easily swayed

You're absolutely wrong. That situation was with DeAngelo Benton, not Bell.

Actually, I have to go and somewhat correct all of us there. Bell and Randle were part of Bama/LSU's 2009 class. DeAngelo Benton went to Auburn.
Who knows....

I know, the situation was with Randle/Benton, that's it.
Bell had absolutely nothing to do with anything there. Bama flipped Bell on a completely unrelated note. Bell jsut wanted to go to Bama, Benton ended up at Auburn because of pressure from Randle's side and the coaches getting tired of trying with him.
And no LSU fan is upset over Bell, he's a very mediocre player.

I'm upset b/c the kid has talent but can't translate it to being a constant weapon on the field.
That and his twitter skills have a lot to be desired...

I know this isn't true because LSU fans try way too hard to convince everyone of this:

he's a very mediocre player.
If you guys really didn't care about Bell, then you wouldn't jump at every chance to declare what a mediocre player you think he is.

This is actually a lot more like the Yeldon situation. Calloway was committed to Alabama and Kouandjio was all but committed until Trooper Taylor got the kids alone on campus and threw strippers and booze in their faces. They make snap decisions before finally coming to their senses by NSD.

Thats not the point, the point is it happens. It might suck for the team it happens to, but its part of todays recruiting game.

You have to understand dude,It's not supposed to happen to the greatest football entity in the history of the game.

Gator knows what he is talking about, and gave you some good advice. Don't worry about it, if he stays great if not then that is cool too.

Someone flat out said here you got Bell, we got Randle (or whatever it was) like its was some sort of even tradeoff. They arent even close, Randle is WAY better. And Bama fans bring this up all the time, because they wish he was actually some kind of great get. Simply put he's just a mediocre player.

Bama fans mention him all the time, so dont try and pull this card. Nobody was upset when Bell went to Bama because we knew he would never be an impact player. It's not like we dont get upset ever when Bama takes one from LA, for instance Landon Collins. So clearly it's not just every playerwe lose we think will not do much.
And if you think Bell is better than mediocre than you're really just upset over a fact. He has 36 catches in 3 years at Bama. He's not even a #2 option at WR.

Where did someone say that?
No one is saying that Bell is as good as Randle because he obviously isn't. But he's not mediocre either. He'll be a 3 year contributer and 2 year starter by the time he's done next year. He's second on the team in receiving yards and leads the SEC in yards per catch. He's our deep threat guy. He's not as good as RR, but claiming he is mediocre just shows your inability to be objective about him.

How did this thread get so off topic?

This same debate breaks out anytime Bell is menioned in a thread
