The recruiting process has been an exciting time and a huge learning experience for me," Curtis said, via his personal X.com account. "I am especially thankful to the coaches at Georgia for their belief in me and for treating me and my family with so much love and support from day one. This morning I spoke with Coach Smart and Coach Bobo and let them know that I still love Georgia, but would like to take some more time to explore all my options so I can make the best, most informed decision for my future. I let them know it just doesn't seem right or fair to stay committed while checking out other programs. People to know where I stand and I've learned that making big decisions takes time. My focus now is taking care of business during the rest of our high school season and being a great teammate and leader. I look forward to making the moswt of an open recruiting process in the months ahead

UGA offered 7 2026 QBs. However, other than Jared Curtis, only Faizon Brandon (Tennessee Volunteers Commit) and Brodie McWhorter
On3 (3-star, West Virginia Commit) had visited UGA (in 03/24).

Jared will visit South Carolina for the second time this year against A&M (11/12). SC has been pursuing for a while. He also visited Ohio State, Oregon and USC early this year before committed to UGA. Like Dylan Raiola at Nebraska, he can have immediately playing time at SC.

Nobody wants to go to USCe. Sellers hasn’t been developed.

Curtis plans to attend Georgia's game against Tennessee on Nov. 16 in Athens as well as Vanderbilt's game against Texas Oct. 26.

I haven't watched a single second of this guy play so he could be the next Tom Brady, but I always think its interesting when the in-state school doesn't seem to be pushing too hard. It seems like our staff zero-ed in on Faizon Brandon a long while ago. But that could also be that Curtis just wasn't really high on Tennessee.

On3 updated 2026 #1 QB, #3 overall

3. QB Jared Curtis
School: Nashville (Tenn.) Christian
Scout’s Take: “The 6-foot-3, 225-pounder was the On3 MVP at Under Armour’s Nasvhille camp after turning in a standout performance. Curtis has one of the strongest arms in the country with the ability to drive the ball with significant velocity to all levels. The ball jumps out of his hand. There’s no denying the former Georgia pledge is a top arm talent.”
