So would you care to tell me why EVERY paid recruiting site with credible people who are paid to provide this info and not be biased or wrong has stuck their collective necks out there and never backed off or recanted that they thought Bama would land Yeldon in the last week? It isn't me Rockymtn I'm just relaying, today AU staff is trying desperately to reach Yeldon and they can't and whether it be Bama or AU I am hearing we will at least know for sure tomorrow

Until either sign a NLOI or enroll at a school, expect the chatter/rumor mill to keep churning on both of these elite offensive playmakers. T.J. Yeldon continues to reassure everyone that he is indeed sticking with his commitment to Auburn, but that didn't stop Alabama assistant coaches Sal Sunseri and Jeremy Pruitt from showing up at the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic last Saturday to watch him play and continue to recruit him. Sunseri and Pruitt also visited with Jameis Winston, who came out last week and said he is still solid to FSU. Multiple sources have indicated that Alabama has a great shot with Winston and a puncher's chance with Yeldon. Of course it doesn't hurt Alabama's argument that the Crimson Tide has sent two Heisman finalists at Yeldon's position to NYC in the last three seasons. Alabama is giving a full-fledged effort to land both, although Winston is the the more likely of the two to flip. Stay tuned.

If you've been a faithful reader of The Recruiting Corner you already know how much of a priority Daphne running back T.J. Yeldon has become for the University of Alabama coaching staff. It appears those efforts are paying dividends with the Crimson Tide making up huge ground on the 2012 five-star Auburn commitment in the last two weeks. In fact, multiple sources told TideSports.com on Wednesday night that Alabama not only pulled even with Auburn in recent days, but may have actually taken the lead. With Yeldon expected to be a mid-term enrollee, expect this Alabama-Auburn battle to be interesting in the closing weeks. At this time, TideSports.com is projecting Yeldon to sign with Alabama. If that happens, the ramifications cannot be understated. First, Alabama desperately needed another running back in this class. While it's true that UA running back commit Kenyan Drake had a tremendous season, being named the Georgia Gatorade Player of the Year, the Crimson Tide really needed a prototypical Alabama running back, and Yeldon fits that mold perfectly. How this affects Justin Taylor, who tore his ACL and missed most of the season, remains to be seen. Yeldon, a 6-foot-2, 210-pound athletic back, rushed for 2,196 yards and 31 touchdowns in Class 6A this season, with a running style that reminds most analysts of former Arkansas and current Oakland Raider Darren McFadden. His signature move may be his hurdling of defenders which he seems to do at least once a game. He is also a skilled pass catcher with 19 receptions for 244 yards and one score. The second reason a Yeldon flip would be significant is perception. With Alabama preparing for an appearance in its second BCS National Championship Game in three seasons, sending a Heisman finalist to New York for the second time in three years and flipping one of the top running backs in the country, it could be a perfect recipe for the Crimson Tide as it heads down the stretch for the 2012 class as well as making a huge impression for the start of the 2013 class. And fwiw there is NO WAY either guy would put their neck out there on this, also a pretty hot and heavy thread by a credible poster about today at the mall or whatever and several pro Yeldon to Bama posts, no interference or delete from mods, a few posters questioning it have been met with Aaron Suttles or Keith stating how they have credible sources very close to the situation still confirming regardless of what his coach or AU staff says to media
