There is chatter that a lot of schools are backing away from Gibson. Something is up with this recruitment and it isn't good.

VOL lock is what's up with this recruitment.
And LOL at Urban Meyer backing off a 5* player because of off the field concerns.

quote:Horseshite, you're backing off because you're not getting him. Urbs never had a problem with shady recruiting while at UF and I doubt he'd have a problem up at OSU.

Which QB do you see Auburn landing?
Either Francois or Deandre Jackson or no one else besides Queen
I think Gibson is a silent to Tenn.
I could definitely live with that. Francois is my top pick this cycle at QB. Granted, at this point, I feel comfortable with the QBs currently on roster, so Gibson would probably benefit AU more considering he'll end up at WR.

Aaron Hernandez laughs at this.

Funny responses considering both of your teams are on the "teams backing off of Gibson" list.

MULTIPLE TEAMS BACKING OFF GIBSON BECAUSE OF "RED FLAGS?"

Auburn is now going after Lamar Jackson hard, and Francois, who canceled his Ohio State and Tennessee visits that he was supposed to take this week after visiting Auburn. Heard Auburn's staff likes them both just as much, if not more than Gibson.
We all know Ohio State has backed off, or Gibson has backed off Ohio State, one of the two.
Now a Tennessee staff member/insider on 247 thinks that they may start to back off as well, but he isn't sure yet...
Could be all speculation but there's been some smoke around Gibson and his off the field behavior for some time now. If he does have issues, hopefully he gets his shite together because he's one talented individual.

I can't speak for Auburn but I find it very hard to believe Tennessee would backing off Gibson. He was here for a 6 day unofficial at the beginning of June and is scheduled to be here this weekend at our biggest camp of the summer.

I would like to have Gibosn but AU has made Francois a priority. If Francois committs to FSU next month I assume AU will continue to pursue he and Gibson until signing day just for the chance of a flip. If not, then we aren't out anything...The staff is very comfortable with taking just Queen this cycle.
fwiw.. I haven't heard and don't think AU is "backing off". We're just giving more attention to Francois right now becuase he committs next month and has shot up the coaches qb board lately.

Apparently, Gibson is having a birthday party in Knoxville next weekend.

For real? Kid's gonna just go ahead and move up here and graduate from Webb, Catholic or some other private school here before all is said and done.

Sounds like he is joking.

^Kahlil is a Vol lock. So if they're joking then they're joking about an event in Knoxville, alluding to UT or even alluding to a commitment or two (Kahlil hasn't formally pulled the trigger and plans do so on the 10th at The Opening but he's All Vol). IOW, I'll take it.

The Vols247 recruiting guy is pretty much backing everything that this Ohio State guy is saying. Telling fans to not get caught up on the guy like they did with Adoree and that there's something going on behind the scenes. He said multiple teams have certainly backed off from recruiting and he wouldn't be surprised if Tenn does too...it's just a delicate situation because they don't want to screw up their chances with other recruits that have relationships with TG

Hubbs just dropped a bombshell saying basically Tennessee isn't recruiting Gibson very hard and that he "wouldnt consider tennessee the leader at this point."

I think some Tennessee fans might be getting a bit too excited about Gibson.
As I've said, I think a number of teams have some serious concerns about him right now. It's going to be interesting to see what happens with his recruitment over the next couple of months.
The red flags regarding Gibson aren't things that would show up on his Twitter account or anything like that.
I'm not really in a position to discuss the details of what Gibson has and hasn't done or anything like that. All I can tell you is that the concerns about him are serious enough that multiple programs that have been involved with him either have taken a step back in recruiting him or are seriously considering doing so.
Again, I'm not really in a position to discuss the details of what Gibson has or hasn't done. But I do think it's at least possible that Tennessee ultimately could back off Gibson. It's a somewhat tricky situation for the Vols, considering that Gibson is involved with a number of their other current targets, and completely backing off Gibson might leave a sour taste in the mouths of some of the guys he knows. But I would not consider him one of UT's top targets at this point, if that makes sense.
