probably worse. UT has a high probability of going 1-11 this season.

I find it absolutely hilarious that Ohio State fans are saying they backed off because he has character issues. Urban Meyer backing off for character issues. Urban Meyer.

From OSU mods:
quote:
**Out On Gibson? … An article in the Cleveland Plain Dealer caused quite a stir yesterday as news broke that quarterback Torrance Gibson said Ohio State has not been in contact with him for some time.
Of course we did some checking on our end and found what Gibson said to be true … in a sense. While the staff has not been in touch with Gibson, it is apparently not from a lack of trying, though.
Sources close to the team tell us Ohio State's coaches have been trying to talk to the five-star athlete for the last month or so, but have not been receiving a response from the Florida native for reasons they do not know. In fact, Gibson even went as far as to unfollow some Buckeye staffers on Twitter, so direct messages were no longer possible.
So you have Gibson saying Ohio State hasn't contacted him and you have Ohio State saying Gibson won't contact them----seems like either there are some serious wires crossed or one side of the story is not being completely told (we think it's Gibson's if this is the case).
Regardless, we checked in with a source down in South Florida to see what he thought about the situation, and wanted to share with you his thoughts on the Gibson recruitment when it comes to the Buckeyes.
"Honestly, if I was Ohio State I would just let this one go," he said. "The kid is too talented and that is why no matter what happens every school is still going to try and sign him, but end of the day landing him may be worse for your team than better. Sure he'll do some incredible things on the field either behind center or at receiver, but I'm not sure it's worth the baggage he comes with. You guys don't really get it, but he didn't grow up with any guidance and ultimately is being raised by some coaches at American Heritage. They kind of let him do whatever he wants because he's their star player, so I don't blame the kid because he knows no different, but he gets into a lot of trouble and has no consequences because of what he does on the gridiron. I don't think he's great for a locker room and if I was ever asked, I would advise Ohio State to just let him go to Tennessee or Auburn at this point."
It will certainly be interesting to see which direction this saga goes in next.

Sounds like a bunch of sour grapes to me. I didn't hear any of this when he was supposedly a Buckeye lock 6 months ago.

quote:I think Torrance Gibson is starting to showcase this to a lot of fanbases. From his top 15 list of schools (or whatever the high number was), to his listing of a new favorite school after every visit, to getting suspended from his high school team and maybe even kicked out of school (someone verify that for me)...kid has headcase written all over him.

Talent is unquestionable, as is athletic ability...but everything else? Doesn't sound worth it to me.

Yeah, he could be a program changer. He could also be a diva that kills team chemistry. Either way, I don't think osu, AU or UT would turn down a commitment. Just too much raw talent.

Well get use to it. UT is pulling in "superstar" players at a ridiculous pace after multiple losing seasons... may finish ahead of the Barn in recruiting after coming off of a national championship loss. UT is back in 2015, and will out recruit damn near every other team in the country.
