We'll sign ZERO 4-stars this year, unless we go 12-0 this year. Oh, and while UK is having a good recruiting class, I'm not sure any UK fan is quite yet in a position to talk shite about recruiting...in football at least

Meh. Our 2013 class was better than yours as well.

Nice pickup but if you think this kid has an LSU offer you are smoking crack.

Won't argue that either. And to top it off, 2 of our top players in the 2013 class....gone. Juco route. And some wonder why GP is on the hot seat. 5-7 followed by the worst class for Mizzou in quite some time, only to be followed up with this years class of 18 diamonds in the rough.

Yepp, I wish that the whole LSU thing was left off because at the end of the day, I really did like what I saw on his video, though it's obviously just high lights.

I honestly think at this point for y'all to get any positive momentum in recruiting it's going to take a coaching change.

I agree with you 100%. I wasn't kidding with the only other thing I see helping is going 12-0 and that will never happen. The point being, though, that I don't see 7-5 or 8-4 even (which would be outstanding and involve some upsets in itself) wouldn't be enough to really give us a huge kick in recruiting.

Who? If that kid had an offer from LSU then I need to go see if mine came in the mail! BRB

Haha. For me its to laugh about a thread that doesn't involve JFF. The being said, I'm sure LSU fans would have heard if him if he had an offer. FW Dunbar has historically had a strong football program, so good pickup.

I was listening to one of the new shows on 920 with Burwell and Strauss. They were coming up with some pretty absurd names to replace Pinkel.

They said Beamer, but then said he wouldn't leave VaTech (obviously). And then the next name out of their mouth was Mike Riley. He's never leaving Oregon St.

I think it depends on what kind of offensive philosophy direction they want to go. If they want to go pro-style, power, conservative, Willie Taggart or Paul Chryst would be guys to look at.

If they want to keep it wide open. Mark Hudspeth would be a good choice. None of them seem like they would win the press conference, but they're all three good, young coaches. And I know Hudspeth specifically would give such a jolt of energy to the program that recruiting and fan support would improve right away.

The St. Louis media and the guys on 920 are so far behind the learning curve it's sick. I love the fact that there is more CFB conversation on the radio and in the media than ever before, but guys like Burwell and Strauss know next to nothing about CFB. I don't know if it was them or others on 920, but they also said our hardest OOC game will be Arky State this year. I guess the argument could be made, but Indiana will be improved this year and the fact it is at Indiana I would think makes that game tougher than Ark. State at home. Heck, Toledo should be as good as Ark. State.

Interesting names. My concern about Chryst is the apparent lack of ties to the south and the east. May not be a killer with the right hires under him. Taggart is young but has those connections. Personally, of the names mentioned, I like Hudspeth and that jolt is probably what is needed, along with his ties to the south and east of Missouri.

Agreed.

My cousin knows Tim McKernan pretty well, I was thinking about approaching them to write content for their site or for one of the shows. I do have writing experience, it's just been about 12 years since I did it professionally. But they need someone with a clue about college football as a whole, and specifically the SEC.

That would be awesome. Let me know how that goes. Like I said, I think they're trying now, which is more than could be said in the past, but they just don't have the knowledge base YET to hold a knowledgable conversation about it. Dave Matter does spots a couple times a week, but they're just spots, not a show and he really just limits himself to Mizzou. He'd be the first to tell you, for example, he doesn't have the time or energy to follow recruiting. I'd like to see him with a regular show still. It would be a good start.

Yeah, Matter goes on Middle Relief, and DeArmond goes on Morning After.

I like listening to their segments.

They have time on the schedule to add a once or twice a week CFB show now.

Here's a CSB for you, my mom went to elementary school with Kevin Slaten.

I'm afraid to even ask what he was like back then. I bump into him every so often and while nice enough when I talked to him, he did seem to think he ruled the roost. As for his show, if you're not looking for actual sports talk, it can be pretty entertaining, but you have to take him for what he is, a major troll on the radio. Having said that, I can only take it in small, and I mean small, doses.

ETA - That almost sounded like a fan. I'm not. Was just saying I think it's comical how people take him so serious.

I am betting that Hughes flips to LSU. National signing day is six months out. Anything can happen.

Fort Worth Dunbar is a 4A school (5A being the top in Texas) that in my opinion does not play that high of quality of competition. Furthermore, their football team has not historically been that strong. Dunbar is known for being an outstanding basketball program...made state playoff for 30 some odd straight years.
