So what you're insinuating is that since they updated the rankings two weeks ago, he has shown enough during a period where is isn't playing football to move 80 spots and gain a star? Alright man, continue with your fairy tales...

I don't control what Rivals posts regarding prospects. However, they listed him as a five star player. Why question me about it?

Goldman has said NOTHING

again, how much did Kiel say? yet it was obvious he was an LSU lean.
Someone correct me if I am wrong, maybe he was talking more than I thought he was.

Also, as someone else mentioned, landing Jones would help with Goldman.

I'll go by what they listed under his profile, which is not even Top 100

And there is not a single person out there saying Winston will go the MLB route, yet you post it in every thread Winston's name is mentioned. Why is that?

What recruit ever says they are definitely going pro? None, ever, they all wait, or say they playing football, then MLB comes calling and more times than not, if drafted high enough or by the right team, they take the money. I know Bama fans REALLY want to believe their "insiders" Winston is not even thinking about going pro, and will be drafted very low, but the fact is, there's a GREAT chance he'll go pro in baseball.

And you comparing this to the Goldman thing is completely stupid, they are 2 totally separate situations.

Jones isn't really a 5-star.

Kinda like LSU fans stating they just got a commitment from the #1 QB in the country, huh? Last I checked, Jameis Winston is the consensus #1 QB in the country, not Kiel, but that sure as shite didn't stop the circle-jerking on this site the past two days.

Alabama is in the final two for Goldman, and landing Cyrus Jones will help tremendously with him. Along with the Kouandjio brothers, there would be a big contingent from the Baltimore/D.C. area pushing him to Alabama. Regardless, you must not realize what "favorite" means. Alabama could very well miss on all four of those I listed, but carry on with your absolutes and apparent butthurt in this thread.

If you are a "favorite" supposedly at this point and do not land the recruit, clearly you were wrong. Therefore not making you the "Favorite" unlike what your "insiders" might want you to believe because you throw a ton of money their way.

Agree. it is a bit premature to make that claim. Now, if you want to make it in May '12 about the '08 Bama class you might have a case. They could have 2 national championships, a heisman winner, a 48-6 four year record (30-4 SEC record counting Conf Champ & Nat Champ games) and as many as 8 first rounders.

So, again, where are your sources that Winston is definitely going the MLB route? You seem dead set on it happening but never provide conclusive proof to your assumptions, just fan conjecture. I'll wait.

Link? Other than obvious LSU homers...

Link up all the non Bama blowhards saying no chance he'll go MLB.

Point is there's nothing either way, I'm going base don history of recruits that go through this circus every year, more than likely he signs if drafted high enough and by the right team. Even if he slid to the 4th or 5th round. Guess what if a team with money drafts him? He's still gone.

Huh? No LSU fans were all parading around like we were a favorite, not once. Nobody knew what he was going to do until his decision was made. In fact the MAJORITY of people kept saying Notre Dame right up until he chose LSU.

This is recruiting. Gunner Kiel was expected to head to Alabama or Oklahoma at one point. Things change all the time and even moreso in the last few weeks of each recruiting cycle. That being said, I fully expect Alabama to have a tremendous chance to close out with Eddie Goldman, Cyrus Jones, Jameis Winston, and Jordan Jenkins.

He is the #1 pro-style QB in the country, last I checked DT and PRO-Style were ranked separately. Or the #1 QB in the country who will make it to college if you prefer.

Wasn't it 08 when UF had "the greatest recruiting class ever"?

I don't think you can compare the Kiel and Goldman situation. Kiel chose IU the first go-around because of distance, and maintained that was important to him. Couple that with family ties to Notre Dame and the QB friendly offense, I think a lot of people were right to assume that. Regardless, Eddie Goldman is obviously leaving the region he is from. Alabama or Florida State should be the luck program to sign him. With the 'Noles struggles, and the positive publication out there for Alabama, it looks good for 'Bama right now.

Their 2006 recruiting class will go down as one of the best ever. Their 2010 recruiting class was among the best ever on NSD.

Well here is a link to the top 25 high school baseball prospects in the country, which is less than a month old. It obviously doesn't include college players, but it obviously doesn't include Jameis Winston either. Enjoy.

and I'll wait for you to provide proof he's definitely NOT going. Point is neither one of us is him and know what he will do.

It's my opinion and many others he'll go pro based on guys just like him in recent years. He still has his senior season left to play in baseball and could go up or down boards, so we wont really know until after then what it's really shaping up to be, then of course draft day and what team gets him will be the ultimate decider.
