I see Bama showing 24 commits now. How many do they plan to sign?
Between 28 and 30 is my guess with backcounters and greyshirts (if necessary). I stopped trying to figure out the Saban math a few years ago....

Possibility to add at least 3 more, at the most 5

Pretty sure that's an old tweet... Not to mention it could have been a loaded question like: "Are you excited to be playing with Amari Cooper?"

It was from yesterday. Is that too old?

Let me rephrase what I said... I've seen that tweet posted 4 different times already.

Now you've seen it 5 times since it pertains to the subject in this thread.

Yes, Yes, No.
Glad I could help.

surprised no one has posted this yet, but Aaron Suttles had an EXCELLENT recruiting mailbag this morning addressing the current targets in this year's class & even 2013 targets, here are some of the highlights:
Like I said GREAT Mailbag. Aaron is in the know for sure

Q: Go out on a limb. Who do we close with?
tnt77
A: Wow, straight to the point, huh TNT? I like it. I'm hesitant in even addressing this question because there will be some that hold me to this come National Signing Day, when in fact it was a best guess. So I can't answer this, but I will say that there are five guys I currently can see signing with Alabama. In no particular order Landon Collins, Eddie Goldman, Jordan Jenkins. Cyrus Jones and Jameis Winston.

Q: As the class gets better and fuller, do we have any commits who appear to be looking around?
bigfunguy24
A: Yes. Brandon Greene is looking and there are some around the Georgia program that feel confident that the Bulldogs might be able to pull a switch. It's imperative that Alabama keeps Greene committed because....another commitment who might be looking around is Brandon Hill. Hill has some work to do in the classroom, and with the 2012 class tight with numbers it is more important than ever that every recruit who signs National Letters of Intent is able to qualify and enroll due to the SEC limits on signing classes. There are others who might be jettisoned from this class for one reason or another. Should be an eventful month leading up to NSD.

Q: Before Yeldon commit there was all this talk about him and Winston going to flip to Bama. Since Yeldon switched though, I haven't heard anymore about Winston, it's been pretty quiet on him lately. I'd just like to know if your still very confident in him flipping, and if so will it be before National signing day?
rolltide14_0
A: He is still publicly committed to FSU (check out his tweet on Dec. 29 at 11:14 a.m.). However, I still maintain that Alabama has an excellent chance at nabbing the nation's top quarterback. He will be in Orlando/St. Petersburg for the Under Armour All-American Game next week. He isn't expected to announce on NSD due a baseball game (USA versus the world) the same day. Multiple sources have told TideSports.com that most of Winston's family wants him in Tuscaloosa. The lone hold out is his father, who may carry the most weight outside of Winston himself in the decision. I still feel good that Alabama can steal him, but it's far from a sure thing. This is recruiting we're talking about.

Q: Latest on Landon Collins and Jordan Jenkins?
BreakingTheCap
A: Jordan Jenkins is being sought by Georgia. Bulldog coaches are pointing out Alabama's five linebacker commitments, including Ryan Anderson, who projects as a Jack linebacker, the position Jenkins wants to play. Jenkins is still favoring Alabama. Sources continue to tell TideSports.com that Alabama has a slight lead over LSU for Landon Collins.
quote:
Q: What are the chances that we hang onto Reuben Foster?
Redbamatime
A: It's going to be tough. The good thing is that Foster loves the Alabama coaching staff, especially defensive coordinator Kirby Smart. If Alabama keeps Smart through NSD 2013, the Crimson Tide has a great shot to keep him committed. As I talked to him this week I could tell that he isn't afraid of competition. But Alabama taking five linebackers (maybe six if Jordan Jenkins signs) in the 2012 class will be used against the Crimson Tide from now until NSD 2013.

Q: Give us your top 5 recruits in this class. Not just the guys that are commits already. But the guys you feel we land also.
whorton
A: There are two ways to rank this. I could go with 1-5 based on need/importance or 1-5 based on sheer talent. I'll rank the first on sheer talent. It's almost a toss-up for 1-2 (more like 1A and 1B) but I'll go with 1. Jameis Winston, 2. T.J. Yeldon, 3. Eddie Williams, 4. Landon Collins, 5. Ryan Anderson. Now based on need/importance. 1. T.J. Yeldon, 2. Eddie Williams, 3. Ryan Anderson, 4. Geno Smith/Travell Dixon, 5. Landon Collins

Bone just came out with a note that said sources close to Collins are saying he'll pick Bama on Thursday. Would be awesome but I don't expect it.
Posted on 12/31/11 at 4:45 pm to Bryant91092
Would make for some good entertainment.

If Bone said it then he'll commit to LSU and turn us in for a violation.

You mad I figured out your secret?
You said no to an offer from Les Miles at Ok state so you could be a weatherman aka play baseball then realized you rather grab asses than catch balls so you signed with Ok State.

What's going on buddy? I appreciate the kind words earlier.
As for you Magilla, I apologize for drunk posting. You know I'm fairly objective. Didn't mean to go on a personal attack. I've sobered up since then and appreciate your candor.
Saying that, we getting these 5 and we STAAAAAACKED.

Chillin man. BTW, i'm not fat anymore!
It's all good man. I've ranted before too. Internet is not an accurate reflection of people most times
I hope everyone is right about getting these guys, but if you convince yourself that you don't like the pretty girl then your not as hurt when she beds someone else.
