So, yes, violation and gumps are still dumb.

Ya, it would be a violation if Bama got him a job before he graduated, which theyre not.

So, no, its not a violation and barners are still mad.

In the last 4 yrs:

Auburn signed 113 players
Alabama signed 109 players

Chiz signed 84 players in 3 of those yrs. But Au hasn't processed anyone, and Chiz signing 1 under the limit is why Au is down scholarships by way more than that.

Yeah, every bit of that bylaw is referring to employment within the institution itself

You are correct and I didn't catch that at first. This ruling only talks about the prospective athlete finding work with the Institution and only through normal means. Such as papers, message boards, etc. Interesting.

Here is the possible boom if Saban were to follow through with what the recruit claims he said.

I doubt very seriously Saban promised to help him get a job

No way he did. He is not stupid. The RB coach or whoever the other guy referred to in the article probably told or implied it to the HS coach who passed it along to the kid. It will get swept under the rug without difficulty. Too many channels that the information passed through and a "misinterpretation" ocurred will be the excuse.

That is what the bammers want to point to when spinning this issue. Again, most of the oversigning by AU and the rest of the SEC is due to the fact that some do not get in school (grades). In Saban's case he oversigns in anticipation of cutting players from previous classes. Big difference and big advantage.

Would be a violation even after graduation and staying in GA.

I have numerous times before. Tell me out of 119 players inked in the last 4 yrs, the ones gone for legit reasons that have yall at what, 70 some odd scholarships? That's 30 or so you should be able to give me legit reasons for not being there.

I interpret laws for a living including some of the most asinine and complex international laws and treaties known to man.

That is one of the things that pissed me off about the Cam stuff last year. I spent an hour reading the rules and bylaws and knew what the answer was and based on the information out there, that AU was fine and Cecil was not an agent or some bullshite.

Anyway, bama is fine here unless the HS coach recorded the conversation, then the assistant (I am guess it was not saban) making the promises would be the scape goat.

No it wouldn't. The school can arrange for jobs outside the program once the kid has graduated. The or makes this clear. You don't need to arrange for employment with the institution, you just employ.

I agree nothing will come of it. It is just fun discussing it and watching the bammers get all riled up.

So I am trying to stir the pot and keep the discussion going. We have over 2000 pages to go.

If you don't mind, will you let us know the next time Alabama gets in trouble for recruiting? We'd appreciate it.

You mean like being on probation? Something like that?

Chizik just sends them out on a robbery, then calls the police on them. More efficient.
