I don't know, man. Most of Bama's remaining top targets look like pretty tough battles to win. It's just too hard to predict this far out, with OVs and FB season yet to come. For example, about this time last year I felt pretty good about Bama's chances of getting at least one of the top 2 ILBs that they were after -- Nakobe Dean and Henry To'oto'o -- especially with Bama's thin depth chart at that position. Bama didn't get either one.

Sometimes Bama is able to be selective at some positions, but for the ultra elite prospects, Bama loses more battles than they win. Most of those recruits get spread out among the top ten or so programs.

For some reason Les Miles decided he need more athletes and kickers and less linemen. This has obviously been the difference in LSU being great as opposed to good.Quality depth on both sides needs to be the focus, obviously. The staff seems to be catching up.

I know for fact if he signed today it would be LSU and without George..Geaux Tigers

I don't care enough to dig it up but when was the las time lsu signed a five star out of state running back? Does anyone know? Have they ever?

There's fournette, guice and emery. All in state guys and both fournette and Emery were a struggle to sign. Georgia almost nabbed emery and it's common knowledge fournette came down to the wire with Alabama.

I mean lsu fights to sign the five star backs in their own state. How do they expect to land Evans? Alabama though routinely signs out of state five star running backs.

Is lsu really in this with Evans? Probably not and i think we all know that.

And to answer your question LSU hasn’t had to venture out of state to often to recruit quality RBs.Also there’s no need to keep reminding everyone of Bama’s recruiting prowess,it’s obvious

Well, he’s obviously an Alabama alter and we all know how insecure they can be

LSU got the two best backs in the country last year, imo. (Clarification) I mean, no other team signed a better combination than Emery and Davis. I love Emery, and tend to think Davis could actually turn out to be better.

This running back class could be really special. It would begin with the No. 1 player in the country at the position in Houston (Texas) North Shore’s Zachary Evans, another state champion last fall who’s terrific feet, balance, burst, elusiveness and after contact ability are unique in this class. I’d be surprised if Evans landed anywhere other than Alabama or Texas A&M and many of my contacts ultimately think the Aggies will be the one to beat. I don’t sleep on the Tide but at the very least Fisher and company are rising fast here following a visit in June. Other contenders include Georgia and LSU.

Logged a 247Sports Crystal Ball Forecast in favor of the Aggies for the country’s No. 2 all-purpose back Daniyel Ngata joining Gigem247 insider Damon Sayles and my colleague Brandon Huffman after talking to Ngata and a source with knowledge of the recruitment. It looks like an official visit the weekend of June 21 has set the bar for the versatile playmaker who says he wants to visit Arizona State and Oklahoma State before deciding. Clemson and Utah round out his final five.

I absolutely loved his film. Emery's was great, too. I was so jealous of the haul LSU got last year.

All indications now point towards RB tandem at UGA of Milton & Bigsby. Expect to hear both those commitments by end of the month. Dell & Kirbster don't want to wait to the bitter end on Zachary Evans and miss out on him like they did last year with Trey Sanders.

Lots of love in Dawg-land for taking the in-state kid - Tank.

I still maintain that he's a "settle" choice, and there are at least 4-5 other candidates I would prefer over him, but it's just my opinion based on what I've seen. Perhaps his Sr footage will change my mind... perhaps not. Ultimately, Kirby and Dell get paid a lot of money to know more than I do about it.

Ultimately, if we're settling for a second RB that's still a top 50ish player, that's not too fuggin shabby no matter how you slice it.

I'd prefer to try and flip Lloyd from USCjr, but it apparently isn't meant to be.

He said he’s trying to recruit Tank to Carolina, so I think he’s pretty committed

Milton mentioned Tank's name a few times in his interview by Dawg insider Jeff Sentell yesterday as well.
