No. 1 stays the same after much debate as Louisiana cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. holds onto the top spot. Stingley had a great summer and still remains as rare a prospect as they come at the corner position with great size, athleticism, leaping ability and instincts. Stingley, an LSU commitment, is closely followed at No. 2 and No. 3 respectively by wide receivers Theo Wease and Jadon Haselwood. Wease, an Oklahoma commitment, took on Stingley at a couple different events this summer and did very well while Haselwood, a Georgia commitment, has added size and speed to his game. The battle for the No. 1 wide receiver, and perhaps No. 1 overall, will be a great one down the stretch.
Offensive tackle Darnell Wright checks in at No. 4 overall followed by defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux as each slid slightly. Rounding out the top 10 are running back Trey Sanders, athlete Bru McCoy, defensive tackle Ishmael Sopsher, athlete Quarvaris Crouch and defensive end Nolan Smith (Georgia commitment).
Alabama wide receiver George Pickens, an Auburn commitment, is the highest new five-star, checking in at No. 12 overall. Here’s our analysts breakdown of all the new five stars.

Bo Nix and George Pickens both getting that Auburn bump to 5 star.

I mean they have Palmer #3 in Louisiana now. I like him, but he definitely isn't 5-star worthy.

He looked like one of the best receivers at the challenge to me.

Rivals is getting just as bad as ESPN.
247 is the only one that matters.

Maybe you should tell 247 that, since they use Rivals for their composite.

Bo Nix is the #1 Pro Style QB on Rivals and the #1 Dual Threat QB on 247

It's impossible to say which service is the best. Rivals has a solid track record but all of the sites tend to give bumps to the kids that attend the camp circuits that they're aligned with.

Rivals has gone to crap in the last couple years. I wonder if they don't have quality people anymore, or If they are just too married to overeating ranking guys who attend their camps. Maybe they don't have enough scouts, so they only see guys at their camps love.

I don't see what their eating habits have to do with this

Billy has followed him around a lot and said at times he says Palmer just kind of turns off, which I wouldn't really call a 5-star at that point. He's definitely talented - again, not sure I would say a 5-star level there either, he's not very fast or very athletic, but he does have a knack for just catching the ball for sure.
I think there's a good argument for Top 100 but he's not on Marshall or Chase's level. Those 2 dominated everywhere they went.
Rivals has put a TON of emphasis on who performs at their camps. Look really good at their camp, you get highly rated and praised, have a bad day? Good luck

Every wr commit we have is either a 5 star or was one .Now we need defensive help.

There is a reason they do a composite. I mean, 247 has their own ratings, then they use the composite to try to balance out any inequities and missed rankings.
You do know they use all the ranking services, right?

yes. Get some "D" and you guys could be really, really wicked.
Honest question. How much of your defensive woes should be attributed to your DC coach, and how much attributed to the quality of talent on the defensive side of the ball?

Yes, I know the definition of composite

The point remains that Rivals is used in the composite for a reason.
