What's stopping Kirby from making the same sorts of hires as Orgeron? It's all coaching.

You must really be upset with Saban, then. Last year you got slobberknocked by Clemson and then missed the playoffs altogether this year for the first time.

What changes in coaching are you hoping Saban makes this off season?

Thanks, Tidal. We've gotten some really good DBs the last 2-3 years. Now if we can get a new OC.

5 championships won by Saban at Bama. How many championships in your program's history? And, we are making changes. Stay tuned.

Fromm and his current WRs are better than you all say they are and you know it.

Seriously, I want to see Kirby make changes and stop seemingly putting frienships above your program. Get Coley out of there!

Dude. I asked a simple question.

You were trolling when you said Kirby had underachieved compared to the good recruiting classes. never mind we have been a #6 or better team the last 3 y out of 4 years. I was merely asking how disappointed you were with Saban after the last two years. Alabama has had 7 of the last 8 #1 classes, right?

Just because you are trolling, it does not necessarily mean everybody is. This board is supposed to be a troll free zone.

They looked good vs top 10 Baylor. Will likely be better in 2020.

I think 99.9% of us agree.

Experience usually helps. Pickens in particular looked good. I hope Blaylock can recover. He could be a huge receiver for us.

I just don't get Robertson. I don't know if we are misusing him, or what is going on with him. No chemistry with Fromm? Maybe they don't get along? I have no idea.

I thought this thread was about Ringo signing with UGA not LSU sour grapes because they didn’t finish strong down the stretch in recruiting.

LSU fans enjoy your magical season - you didn’t invent college football.

Fromm definitely regressed and missed some wide open receivers. he isn't the most accurate with the long ball, but can be on occasion. The receivers have the talent, but they were young and made tons of mistakes. Poor routes, dropped passes, no separation. Tons of injuries.

As do we. And let’s be fair, Ed O hasn’t always made great hires. This isn’t his first stint as a HC and figuring it all out took him a while. I think it’s fair to give Kirby the same leash. He’s still learning the intricacies of the job. If you’re a Bama fan, you know Kirby is a good coach. You’re being disingenuous to suggest otherwise. Clemson spent years under Dabo hovering right on the cusp of being a top 5 team. And then, one day, they put it all together and the recruiting consistency finally got them over the hump and into perpetual playoff participation. We’ll get there. I don’t necessarily expect Coley to be gone, but I expect a demotion and potentially a similar situation to what you see at LSU with Brady and Ensminger.

Kirby is a competitor if he’s anything. He wants to win on the big stage and he seems willing to do what it takes to get there. He’s not blind to our struggles on offense this year, so I certainly expect change (and it’s already been hinted at a few times).

I think Ole Miss pulled the plug on Ed O too soon. Houston Nutt rode the talent O brought to Ole Miss and as soon as that talent was out of eligibility Nutt had shot his load. Kirby is a good coach but being a good or great head coach requires different skills and Kirby hasn't proven he has those skills to be regarded as a good or great head coach.

And, the thing about Orgeron is that when he does make a mistake he immediately addresses it. I said this in another thread but if Orgeron had Coley as his OC he would've fired Coley by mid-season. It would have been another Matt Canada situation. Orgeron is more decisive than Kirby and it shows in games.
