6'1.5 235

He plays MLB and QB for his high school team, a tiny 1A school in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky.

He blew up bigtime after attending a Rivals camp in Charlotte, SC and was bumped into the 247 Top 100 (96) after working out at South Carolina during their recent recruiting weekend. He was recently offered (and accepted) a spot in the US Army All American game.

Offers from Kentucky, Louisville and South Carolina.

He's making his selection on July 4.

I was wondering why there hadn't been any chatter on here re: this kid.

South Carolina 247 mods say it's all UK. So, it might be a little early, but good pickup.

Here's hoping. He sounded pretty pro-UK today on the radio, but he was on a UK themed show, so take it with a grain of salt.

Does he play both sides of the ball in HS, or has his time been limited at the LB position due to playing QB?

Plays both sides because the school only has like 15-30 kids on the team at any one time.

He plays in the smallest classification of KY football and, like Cobb said, only has 30 players or so on his high school team.

I'm very interested to see how he performs in the Army AA game. He's got the physical tools.

I like him as a prospect, and he's done some interesting things in the past couple weeks to make his announcement entertaining.

He camped at SC's Showcase and he cancelled his upcoming visits to other schools, saying basically 'I know where I want to go.' That made the Gamecocks feel good about a commitment, with the timing of that situation.

Then he was scheduled for an appearance on a Lex radio show and swung by Kent's campus as well.

Now the SC predictions on 247 are flipping to Kent predictions.

Personally, I think he stays at Kent now. If he picks SC, it will be a surprise to us like Barker picking Kent last year.

As stated above, he sounded very pro UK on the radio show today, but it was a UK radio show so who knows. I hope we get him.
