Meh. I'd prefer the Oxford bars over Starkvilles...we need more "in between bars". We have Ricks and Cowbells as big clubs, and smaller social bars. Need more like State Theatre imo.
Restaurants it is a wash, both towns have good places to eat you could put the best of both towns against each other and it is very close.

Alright, point taken.
Chef John Currence of Oxford's City Grocery was actually a contestant on Top Chef All Stars so... yeah, our Food Network presence > yours
But, hell, at least you have one. I had no idea.

That's an article about a song Johnny Cash wrote that happens to deal with Starkville (because some dumbass cop arrested him for no good reason). I'm talking about actual pieces featuring the town as a whole, as in a "hey Starkville sure is a nice place to spend a weekend" type of deal.

And when the thread couldn't get any worse... State fans want to compare Starkville to Oxford

They are both fun towns to live in if you are in college, and maybe if you are geriatric.
Other than that, I would not want to live in either.

The nightlife thread on the State board tells us all we need to know on how y'all feel about Starkville.

Ill agree. If you are a gay hipster looking to get your groove on next to the presence of pedophiliac writers who are all snorting blow then Oxford beats StarkVegas hands down.

It's not even close. I actually used to like "maroon nation", but his posts get more immature every time he posts. Said that he is a grown up and has children...

Each town has its perks. Any State fan that claims Starkville is a overall better town than Oxford is obviously delusional. But you are missing the point. I chose MSU over Ole Miss because it was a better fit for me. The town, the people, the school was overall the best fit for ME. Even though I stated Ole Miss is a better town, I would not choose it over MSU because of the love I have for the university.

Great post

Still wouldn't trade it for Starkville. When I said it was a better town, keep in mind I'm speaking for the general consensus.

I get it. Go with what fits you, but at least you can acknowledge the truth
