This is a big commitment for Schlossnagle. Chose A&M over Arkansas and Texas after de-committing from LSU. He and Conner Weigman are going to greatly improve the A&M team next year

I was opposed to Schloss but simply cannot deny the staff he has put together. He's killing it in recruiting, and hasn't even played yet. Apparently the new facility upgrades are something ...

The run on commits this last 3-4 days has been insane.

LaViolette is ranked 4th in Texas. One spot in behind of Weigman.

LSU had the dreaded “dream school” quote from him. Be interesting to see if he makes it to campus.

He might, he might not. Cannot hurt that he is friends with Weigman who is definitely coming to school

Kid is a thoroughbred, baseball is tough to know who will sign and who doesn’t with guys at that level.

Agreed. Schloss seems to be pretty good at getting them into school at TCU so we will see

The fact that he decommitted and committed elsewhere makes me think there is a good chance he goes to college. If he was dead set on the draft then why bother with all that? Visits, interviews, public posts, etc.

Agree, he is clearly not deadset on going pro, could be the other way around for all we know. But if he goes in the first round and gets alot of money thrown at him, we know that 90%+ of those guys are gone.

Serious question. Did TCU being a private school help? I'm assuming they're nothing like vandy since we didn't hear about some massive influx of "scholarships" for them, but were there any reports that they used their private school status as a benefit?

P.S.: the 11.7 limit is the dumbest thing in college sports.

Schloss did an interview a few years ago where he was complaining that private schools were at a disadvantage because with the partial scholarships kids still had to take on a ton of debt to play at TCU. Obviously there's some families that could afford it but they're in the minority. Idk if they ever found a Vandy-type workaround on that or not but my in-laws all went to TCU and they had the same complaints.

Gotcha. When I was applying to colleges I got into TCU and got in and they were generous enough to give me $5,000 per year off of their $60,000 tuition

I was like nah I'll just go to LSU for free and use that 60k per year for law school

How nice of them . My buddy played baseball at Rice and the way they structured his scholarship was 25% the first year, 50% second year, 75% third year, etc.

TCU wasn't able to pull off what Vandy does.

Could Weigman possibly decide to stick to just baseball? Has that been discussed?

Believe he said he’s not going to enter the draft. He could always change his mind I guess

He's coming at the semester, which makes him ineligible for the MLB draft. And he will likely be the number two QB next year
