OU about to be in here tomorrow telling us how they didn't need him anyways.
Anyone saying they didn’t want him is lying. A few notes. If he picks Mizzou it won’t be over til signing day and records and performance this year will matter. If he picks OU the same thing applies. I do think OU can do fine without him but would be better with him. I think we have more horses in the stable is why I say that. If he goes to Mizzou and plays he’ll be double teamed more often than at OU IMO. I think Venables and Bates/Chavis can do great things. I respect a kids choice to go where he wants its his life that he’s living not mine.
This tread started off decent but it turned into a lot of name calling and trolling. I like coming to this recruiting board because its been mostly troll free. Maybe because he’s the number 1 recruit?
Either way he picks I wish the kid the best of luck unless/until we play against him. College football is going to be fun with or without him on my team and he will still be living his dream whoever he picks.

UT have it their best shot. But Missouris offer, along with the new NIL laws for the states, he’s going to Mizzou.
And Missouri is also beloved to be deep in the mix for Wingo also. Wingo was moved though to be UT or UGA lean. But Missouri NIL laws have changed the game.
Missouri has passed a law that allows high school students to collect NIL money once they sign a financial Aid agreement with school or officially signs an NLI.

Yeah this is just...a normal recruitment. He's weighing his future and he has 3 50 year old men begging him to come play with him,

Why do you think this?
Mizzou has been better defensively by a mile overall since 2013. I just want to know where this is coming from.
Mizzou’s defense was awesome last year and they return over 80% of said production. OU’s defense wasn’t good.

Plus, they played in the Big 12! Now they are running away from that conference for not able to win that conference lately.

I doubt UGA. i mean, we probably kept recruiting him, but from everything we have been hearing we pretty much gave up on him awhile ago.

You are not wrong about our past D. I think one has to look at the bigger picture. Riley let our D lose legit chances at nattys because of his crappy D. And it had slipped prior too. Last year was a gutted team. But one has to lok at the coaches we have now and where they were since 2013. Clemson.
And if one looks at BV defenses at Clemson they were sustained top 10 starting in his 3rd year at Clemson and much better than Mizzou. So imo, BV will get our D turned around and thats the D he would be playing for.
BV has put some great pieces in place already and for example we had 1 lineman over 300 pounds last year we have 5 now. He’s made a complete change and still has some top talent to commit like top 10 Stone.
I covered this earlier in thread with what BV has done and why he’s recruiting great.
Again, I wish this kid good luck no matter where he chooses.

Money is the factor and him getting his money on Sept 1st means his family instantly becomes rich…. I still fully believe Missouri’s coach will be fired by seasons end and that money he already received will have no strings attached… OU doesn’t pay millions to kids like other school do…. They have the money but they operate as a team approach where everyone e gets the same not giving the kids who never played a down the most … it’s not what NIL was designed for anyhow …. OU won’t give up and will still have a chance but if not then we will be okay with a top ten dt already committed and another top 2 going to commit David Stone this month… Not to mention we still in it for a McKinley another 5 star dt.

He wants NIL money upfront and Kirby isn't going to do that.

Everything you said about NIL - Kirby has already developed that Philosophy. At UGA, top NIL money is used for retention and reward and not primarily as an inducement to commit - they are paying players but not at top of the market.
UGA has more to sell than OU does - obviously. While Venables is bonafide defensive coach, he is not proven HC - Dawgs can sell winning, development, coaching and NFL top draft picks for defense. It’s an easier sell.
If there is a flip in December, and UGA/OU are offering similar, I like the Dawgs chances. Superior in every way except proximity and buddies on team.

UGA has won for 3 years let’s not act like they been winning as consistent as OU….. we have had one bad season in 25 years …. OU has had the this NIL deal since the beginning nothing has changed we don’t pay for recruits …. Everyone gets the same .
As far as getting to the nfl yes UGA is the place to be but OU isn’t as far off as you like everyone to believe … as a whole OU might have as much or the same amount of NFL players on roster right now . If we’re talking last few years then yes no question UGA is light years better .

LOL. OU was fricking awful last year and has been getting highly ranked kids that they have no business getting. They outbid Oregon for that 5-star safety last year that briefly flipped to Oregon from Notre Dame due to money. If you’re beating out NIKE-U for a recruit then you’re dropping bags.

This is not true. If it was money he’s still at Oregon. Pussy won out, his girlfriend was at OU. Just keeping it real.
Thats the joke going around, OU needs to find WN a girlfriend lol. But he is heading to Mizzou most likely. Wish him the best. Hate to lose a #1 overall recruit but thats college football. Still have the #10 overal DL Stone projected in and once you get to top 25 they are all great with small nuanaces. I wanted both, but thats life its moves on regardless.
We’ll know its Mizzou officially in just over 2 hours. All I could tell the kid is enjoy the process and have fun today. You worked hard and earned it no matter who you pick.

2022 NFL Rosters by College
SEC by far the best conference. Big 12 is way behind.
# of players in NFL by conference
SEC - 405
Little 12 - 164

Don't be so defensive.

Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis were double teamed most of their careers. It wasn't because we were weak defensively.
