After weeks of smoke about a flip, bussey was asked to grey shirt? That doesn't really mesh with what i've read from the tennessee or A&M side. On 247 I counted him as 17th/28 for yall, and 16th/24 for us.

Why would y'all drop bussey over your long snapper or punter or that kid who is 5'10 160lbs?

We need the punter since ours just graduated and we need the long snapper as well.

Maxim #6. Press the kicking game. Here is where the breaks are made.

Well the short answer is that the short kid and the long snapper are two of our 6 GS/BS's.

Here is the long answer.

We can only have 23 initial counters in this class. 2 of our IC spots are being taken by Devaun Swafford and Jashaun Robertson who were Blue Shirted in previous years.

So Joc Bruce, Vincent Perry, Kyle Oliver, Riley Lovingwood, Zach Stewart and 1 more are going to have BS/GS if we are going to take 29 (if we add Richmond).

I guess the staff decided that with Bussey's injury and Kamara and Kelly coming in Bussey was the one that they wanted to push towards that plan.

I am sure the conversation happened this weekend on his OV just like it did a couple weeks ago with Marques Ford when he visited.

I don't blame him for not taking that deal either, A&M has a spot now, go there 100%.

^There's also the rumor that Paulk may be returning after being kicked off the team last year. If that's so I could see it pushing out Bussey.

Paysite info.

His father cited numbers issues as to why Kendall Jr was uncomfortable with the situation. Obviously, not trying to look too far into it but certainly makes you wonder if there was a grey shirt/blue shirt situation here.

No, from talking to him I think they weren't worried about the running back numbers as much as it is they weren't comfortable with the numbers situation. I think that means it was about a blue shirt or grey shirt.

Sounds like they sprung it on him late.

That makes me think DR may have committed and they had to find a spot. I hate they sprang it on him late and hate this side of recruiting in general.

It's good he was able to commit to another solid school, and it's good that that school isn't in our division

Pretty sure you can't grey shirt if you take an OV. Regardless I'm glad we picked him up, our staff valued him pretty high over several in state backs who were ranked higher by stars

You can gray shirt after an OV but you can't blue shirt.

I have no idea how accurate it is, but our mods generally aren't homers at all and tend to downplay everything. I was surprised to hear it as it sounded like we really wanted him a couple of weeks ago.
