Don't think Starkville is comparable.

It's a matter of opinion on whether you like a small college town, in the quiet countryside of the Mississippi woodlands and the four seasons, or large college town, with the beach over an hour drive away.

While I agree. Gainesville isn't a small hick town as it used to be. It's been growing at an incredible rate, yet cost of living is still very affordable. It's really coming alive in a lot of areas and getting very tech driven.

Emory Jones is a prime example of this. Top talent who Dan Mullen has recruited since he was in the 9th grade, yet he passed on Mullen at MSST for OSU but when Mullen went to UF he reached out and flipped to go with Mullen. His recruiting didnt change, the location did.

Honestly, however, he was getting a bit green about the gills having to constantly recruit against a cheating machine like Ole Miss. They make the former USC and Miami look small time.

Honestly I believe Mississippi State did better because of freeze bringing in talent to OM.

I also believe Mullen was starting to get lazy and cheat and that's why he left. Kind of like, if they do it, why don't we.

State fans will dissagre but this is my outside perspective of the situation.

That's a shite ton of speculation, man. I mean, I like to think taking a job with more money and much more access to talent would be more appealing than MSU, but that's just me.

MSU had their ceiling with Prescott, one of the best quarterbacks in the country but even with him they just couldn't get it done because of the talent gap. Even in a transition class, Florida is killing MSU.

We had a losing season, an HC, OC and DC fired and we have double the four stars of MSU.

I'd like to think (maybe I'm biased) that he took a better, easier job for more money, but maybe you're right?

I meant he left for a fresh start. That's kind of what I was hinting at, that he was complacent at state, but Florida and new man should revitalize him.

Leaving Starkville does wonders for morale.

This isn't what you meant, is it?

How was Mullen cheating? I mean, he was the 6th best recruiter in the West. Enter Ole Miss. They once signed the #2 class in the West.

We could sit here an rationalize Mullen’s recruiting ability all day. But the bottom line is that he will be successful at Florida. However, there will be times that you will scratch your head and think what the frick is he thinking. We’ve watched him for 9 years, and while I’ll forever be grateful for what he did to our program, it doesn’t change the fact that there were times where the whole fanbase was comoletely bamboozled by playcalling or recruiting strategies during his tenure. That could change for all we know, he could’ve learned from his mistakes. It still remains to be seen if he can handle the spotlight of being a HC at a nationally top tier program. Best of luck to the gators outside of our game next year You got a hell of a QB developer.

Ironic coming from you, considering you basically implied UGA was the biggest cheater because they signed a #1 class. You love speculating except when it doesn’t fit your agenda.

It kills me how unrelentlessly blind a lot of Georgia fans are.

I said (this is the fourth time I'm saying it): I wouldn't be surprised if Georgia was caught cheating, it also wouldn't surprise me if they were doing it the legit way.

I have no idea why Georgia fans lump me in with that. Read the whole thread, you mook.

Are people in this thread really debating the better program between Florida and State?

It is Florida by a fricking mile. I won't get into the debate about which city is better, but Florida is located in a much bigger state, a state with many more good football players, and a far better history to sell to those players.

Moo State fans have really become delusional to what their football program and whole school is

This times 1000. Miss State thinking they are in any way equal to UF is a joke. UF is one of the premier jobs in CFB. Miss State is the 2nd worst program historically in the damn conference.

There is zero comparison which program is easier to recruit at. Miss State is the ugly step child of the West. Florida has been the big daddy of the East. Not even close.

Of course Georgia is cheating..

Everyone uses bagmen. We do as well. If only a few schools did it, you'd see them win every battle they went in. We all do it. Just some hide it better. Ole Miss went to far and got caught with it. Have to have a balance of doing enough to get it done, but not making it look suspicious.
