He was Saban's Ace recruiter in LA when he was at Bama, sine he grew up in Hammond, LA and new the HS coaching scene here very well. Similar to what Burton Burns was before he retired (Burns being from New Orleans).
Knowing some HS Coaches in LA (have a family member that is one as well), Golding was a DC that would always show up to High Schools to scout players himself. Not many DC's go 100% all in for recruiting but rather rely on the Defensive position coaches to do the heavy lifting.
When you combine coaching and recruiting, Golding is in my mind an upper tier DC in college ball.
