And there was a vote taken and the bill got passed to make the new municipal school district but the ruling was unconstitutional like I said in the last post so it's kinda stalled us out for now

Memphis has always had corrupt high school football. And yes, next to Detroit it is probably the worst city in the country.

I hope they allow the suburbs to split off. There are some very good public schools out there. I went to 4 public schools in the county system, and 2 of them had won the blue ribbon award of exellence. (Farmington and Germantown High). I know my first school has long since been a city school since it's in Hickory Hill

This school merger is a joke... It's the biggest public school merger ever attempted in the history of the United States... Let that soak in for a second... The city is gonna frick this thing all up.. I hope they don't.. But I'll believe it when I see it.

It's a small world. Both Houston GHS are some good schools. Still upset I was forced to move to VA and couldn't graduate from GHS.
Side question. Are the Mustangs the school consistently winning "Best of the Preps" now.

I dont know who the Mustangs are but my wife and I are really into this Merger deal... We have to decide in the next few years if we're gonna buy a house here in the city or move out and commute to work here... The best public school for your money is Houston imho... Arlington is probably a close second.

Fellow GHS grad here. Memphis will most definitely screw it all up. It always does.

El oh el the city of Memphis is going to attempt the largest school merger ever attempted. If Memphis was a person it wouldn't be able to dress itself but its going to pull this off. Yeah right

I don't think y'all had ever won it when I was there. (Granted it was still a new school) couldn't of been more than 5 or 6 years old. The Red Devils were still the best. I still remember seeing all the years listed that we won it on the side of V gym.
As a SF Giants fan I finally forgave Matt Cain for his high school when he had the perfect game against Houston.

Hahahhahaha I never got to see Matt Cain play but man I wish I did he comes to the campus occasionally to see coach Mac but Houston is definately known as the "prep school" now germantown has the better athletics overall I will admit though

Houston High
Like I said earlier in the thread I wouldn't live in the city, but would love to live in the area again. I have heard good things about Arlington. It couldn't take that long to commute from Arlington, and I know it can't take but so long from Germantown or Collierville with Nonconah Parkway

I never saw him play either. But then he is younger than me. The last person I think I knew that went to HHS was my friends sister and she was class of 2000 I think
