LSU fans, tell me about LB Lorenzo Phillips

I read an article today that said Lorenzo Phillips has received interest from UGA, OM, and Alabama. LSU may also try to get back in it with him as well. I've only recently heard about him on our recruiting radar.

apparently, he fell behind kwon, debo and Louis. but, he was recruited for his ability to rush the passer. better pass rusher than the 3 above but was not as good an overall lb.

Thats interesting. I think we are looking for a coverage LB. We have recruited and are recruiting pass rushers fine. We need that 250 pounder ILB (McClain, Hightower)

He wasn't very good when he was at lsu, but maybe juco did him well

He plays more passrushing because he asked to, let's him display his athleticism in another way.
He's a quick twitch ILB that apparently some believe he could play SS. Something that Bama doesn't have in the middle, because there's not much at all. They may be trying to recreate the Donta/Nico/CJ platoon with Ragland taking over at MIKE in 2015 and having Foster and a guy like Phillips platoon at WILL.

yeah, but i'm talking about how good he is on the field
obviously nobody in the sec cares about grades if the guy can play
and like i said, he may be much improved now...some guys just take longer to develop

And Duke Riley
He can rush the passer and that's it. Might be worth a look as a 3rd down specialist on the outside
