I doubt if Etienne has been promised anything other than a fair chance to compete for starting RB. That is the only promise we should be giving any recruit.

Kyle Allen announced his transfer after he found out there would be competition for the starting QB job during bowl preparations.
Kyler Murray cussed out Spavital on the sideline, but he was given plenty of playing time and every chance to win the starting job.
Ole Miss bought Greg Little via his agent. Texas A&M doesn't deal with agents. Has nothing to do with the team cleaning Murray's locker out.

He has his college education paid for at Texas A&M as long as he stays out of trouble and makes his grades.
Texas A&M isn't going to ask him to grayshirt, and his offer won't get pulled if he gets hurt.
If he wants to play RB he is best served by sticking with what he has.

If he plays like his film suggests he would be in the rotation. Our 4th string guy was in the rotation last year.
