Yeah -- I'm a Mississippi state fan that has a pretty damn good understanding of that particular recruit.

People will spin it whichever way they want to make themselves think they're going to have a goddamn wrecking crew signing the dotted line in February. In reality, you're bringing in about 10-15 guys who should see legit SEC playing time and 10-15 others who won't. They'll transfer or drop out or quit football, but that's just the reality of it. That's how the numbers shake out. Teams can have 85 guys on scholarship, and offer 28 scholarships a season, but there are only 44 guys in the two deep.
EDIT: So my point is that you can look at offer lists or stars or class rankings or whatever for guys, but none of that's an exact science. Sure, if a guy is a 5-star he's much more likely to contribute than a 2-star, but even then you never really know.
