Ignore the dad for a moment because I agree with what you're saying with him. But let me ask you this, do you think the chatsports person is a credible source? It reminds me of Sports by Brooks

Is it worth keeping Richt for 3 years to let him see what he does w/ Eason?

No!

But we have a lot of fans that are afraid of firing Richt because it means losing Eason. I don't understand their logic either...

Do you think Eason's dad would be honest if it was true? He'd be opening his son up to more hounding by the UGA staff, as well as from the uga fanbase. I imagine that UGA would start calling him daily, as well as other staffs who were not mentioned to see if they had a chance to get in the mix.

No, but he's stated many times, even before this recent turmoil, that he's committed to Georgia. The school. Athens. And not just any one coach.

He said to one of our Rivals guys that it would have to be a completely different offensive philosophy to get Jacob to look elsewhere.

Not tryin' to shite on you but it's pretty rare for a recruit to just come out and blatantly declare otherwise.

Jacob Eason's dad is fricking pissed. Not about the possible coaching changes but the fact that this guy is spreading rumors that aren't true.

Jacob Eason's dad called our 247 staff and said that it's not true and was not happy. He said the only way Jacob doesn't end up at Georgia is if the new staff brings in the Triple Option. Otherwise, it's a done deal.

Ben Cleveland who is Jacobs best friend out of the commits also said Jacob is coming to Georgia even if he has to fly his arse out West and drag him.

He also said that Ben Cleveland called Jacob on Tuesday night and Big Ben told him “don’t make me fly up there. Enough of this Gator talk.”

His son followed our OC on Twitter, people are allowed to speculate especially when one program is clearly trending upward and the other is clearly trending downward. His dad can bluster all he wants, so can other people, Eason will choose the school, no one else. Won't be on the edge of my seat, but won't say that the way he's acting right now is completely inconsequential.

Meh... I'm really happy with our current QB commit for next year.

Seems like Trask loves the opportunity to be a Gator and is going out of his way to recruit.

He follows any coach that follows him. It's always been his policy. And his dad has been leading his recruitment the whole time. If he doesn't chose the school he wants his son at he will at least play a major part.

Me too, just posted a video of Trask on our board. Wouldn't snuff Eason, but I think my major contention is Georgia thinks that he's just "following for the heck of it", when it's simply not the case. Kid's a Dog, but he's going to keep his options open.

This is as good a forum as any, I suppose...why the love affair with Trask?

Can't speak for him, but I can speak for myself: I think he has a good size and only has a bad rating because he backs up behind a very good quarterback.

McElwain has proven that he can handle quarterbacks very well, and so if he saw something then I trust his judgement on the guy.

Size, composure and touch pass have me excited.

Apparently he killed at our camps. That's what got him the offer.

I also heard that. I think the reason he doesn't start (I hope I'm not repeating myself, I'm not reading through the conversation) is because he doesn't fit the offense that high school runs. But I think we might have gotten away with one this time around.

Heard that as well. Also that the QB ahead of him is very highly recruited

I've heard these things too, but he has still been on the camp circuit and other schools have seen him. It's just hard to believe that UF is the only division 1 school who has seen his potential.

It is an interesting case when his only offers are schools like McNeese State, Houston Baptist, Lamar...and Florida. The articles I've read quoted him as saying that schools like Colorado State and Iowa State are "showing interest".

I don't pretend to be an expert when it comes to scouting high school quarterbacks, but it just seems like it would be an incredible scouting job if no other D1 schools see the potential and he comes in and plays well at Florida. I like McElwain already but that would be incredible if it panned out.
