there's a lot of other leagues in the world (canadian, european, semi pro etc) these players could have ended up. but no, they were good enough to make an NFL roster

If there's absolutely nothing to be positive about it, sometimes you just have to make stuff up.
This is what the Hogs are doing here, and I can't really fault them. I did the same thing when we were wallowing under Dooley. I feel their pain, and I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy.
