Agree to disagree.

At what point do people accept how we do this and quit trying to define limitations that we've laughed at this season?
Cause 21-24 in SEC play in 5 years. That's why. Great year thus far, for sure though. But to say that "this is how we do it"....c'mon man.

Croom players, changing perception, etc... You don't build title contenders at non-traditional powers in one or two seasons.

Should we cower at the thought of the 2*s moving on to the NFL next year? Probably be 5th/6th in the west again huh? It took a little while to build -- but we are here now. We're playing 60 guys every week. The rsFR and rsSO classes are far more talented than the upperclassmen if we are to believe 'crootin websites. If you are waiting on us to fall off a cliff, you are going to be waiting awhile. We're a developmental program that's pushing through Mullen's first true recruiting class this year.

We will only have a Heisman QB every 3 years or so.

Daron Payne seems to be the possible big get. They feel confident in a few highly rated MS prospects but I just dont think MSU will ever be able to recruit nationally. I think this year will help them next year recruit LA, GA, TN, MS, and Bama and they should have back to back top 25 classes as long as Dak stays. Miracle season is hardly accurate though. Yes they are doing things they have never done before, but they arent doing it miraculously like AU did. They are just lining up and beating folks with probably the best player in college football.
Solid post. Agree with everything you said there. We more than likely won't recruit nationally, but I have to believe that this season will do wonders for recruiting in Louisiana, due to Dak's, Josh's, and Day's success this year. You're right about our team this year too, we aren't anything spectacular, we just find ways to win games.

Do you watch the games?

Yes, we give up a shite ton of yards. That's not spectacular, that's finding ways to win games with red zone defense. Look how many points people put up on us, we just put up more. We only beat LSU by 5, and TAMU by 18....other teams have won by 40+ against both those teams. Our most complete game was Auburn, outside of that we have looked very average, but have found ways to win.

We already had a good recruiting class before we became #1 so it hasn't had much of an impact on this year but for 2016 it is really helping. The list of visitors for last weeks game was evidence of that

quote:Just having State's schedule up until now would be a bigger miracle than anything Auburn has received. Auburn has already played 3 teams in the top 11 all on the road. State has only played 1 team in the top 11 period so far, and that was at home in front of their biggest crowd ever
but they arent doing it miraculously like AU did

We are the #19 scoring defense in the country. Adjusted for competition, we are #12.

Our most complete game was Auburn,
4 unforced turnovers on offense, 500+ yards allowed = "most complete game"? I know it's already been asked multiple times -- but do you actually watch us play?

First #1 MSU team in the history of the AP poll, which knocked an undefeated defending national champ from that spot and have held them out of that spot for several weeks = "average" per pv.

Finding ways to win games implies that we have won each game by less than 1 score. That has definitely not been the case.
You use LSU and A&M to support your claim, which we had at least a 21 point margin in the 4th quarter against both.
I just... wow. Just wow.
ETA: I guess Dak is still limping to class and won't play this week because he is so injured, yet everyone else is reporting he isn't wearing the boot anymore and is fine, and ready to play.
