Any new 5* targets popping up on the radar?

Miss. State has 4 4* commits already, all coming from the states of Alabama or Mississippi.

Daron Payne seems to be the possible big get. They feel confident in a few highly rated MS prospects but I just dont think MSU will ever be able to recruit nationally. I think this year will help them next year recruit LA, GA, TN, MS, and Bama and they should have back to back top 25 classes as long as Dak stays. Miracle season is hardly accurate though. Yes they are doing things they have never done before, but they arent doing it miraculously like AU did. They are just lining up and beating folks with probably the best player in college football.

This season is helping more with our 2016 class which we are currently 3rd per 247

Why change what has worked so far? While realistically we can't "climb" any higher on the field than we currently are, recruiting geniuses said our Jr and Sr classes were some of the worst in the SEC during each of those two years. So, what gives 4-5 years down the line as people are expecting us to fall apart without those classes? Why would we expect dropoff to the next 2 classes which were actually much higher rated? Dak came to MSU a great runner that was severely lacking as a passer -- much like 3 of the next 4 guys in line after him. We'll never "replace" a player/leader like him -- but there's no reason for us to concede in advance that we can't have a Bryce Petty after RG3 situation -- given Mullen's track record with dual threat QBs.

Alot has been written on us not changing the philosophy at all. May hit on more "primary" targets, but in reality, we have hit on most of those in the 2015 class ahead of the winning...

We are a developmental, 4-5 year program. It's how success is sustained somewhere like MSU instead of being flashes in the pan. That's why we've had this season circled on the calendar for 2+ seasons now. We knew this was when the program finally came full circle...

because it only works when you have a heisman at QB. But youre right, if Mullen can have heisman trophy QB after heisman trophy QB then sure, their current recruiting success is enough

We will only have a Heisman QB every 3 years or so.

Yeah, Staley is probably the next Heisman.

Damn, that'd be a big pull out of Alabama.

Gotta figure a season like this will really open up the eyes of studs all around the country.

It will hopefully help a lot with the 2016 class. I doubt it does much with the current class.

People are going to laugh but Staley is going to be the real deal. Will he be as good of a leader as Prescott? Most likely no, but the kid is going to be a bad arse.

This is the correct answer. Like Bundy said, we're already in the top 5.

Staley won't be on the football team in 2 years IMO.

He's had 4 or 5 really good ones -- just took him awhile to develop the first one at MSU.

Let's not pretend that Dak signed with MSU as a Heisman QB. Cam would have, but that's different and he didn't. As recently as this offseason, you were making fun of us for hyping Dak, while expecting him to be an average QB and maybe a slightly better version of Chris Relf. Why should we concede anything in advance at this point?

At what point do people accept how we do this and quit trying to define limitations that we've laughed at this season?
